(PCDD) Humble Strategy Sale Highlights - Monaco ($2.24); FTL ($2.24); The Banner Saga ($4.99); Darkest Dungeon ($6.24)

+4 Deal Score
Highlights from the Humble Strategy Sale []:
PC / Mac / Linux / DRM-Free
  • Concrete Jungle [] (PMD) - $1.74 - A small-scale deckbuilder with a neat art style and isometric view.
  • Monaco [] (PMLD) - $2.24 - 1-4p cooperative heist game. PC Gamer called it "one of the best co-op games of all time" and it won an IGF award in 2010.
  • FTL [] (PMLD) - $2.49 - Hugely popular indie roguelite game about managing a crew on a spaceship. I have friends with hundreds of hours in this.
  • Tooth and Tail [](PML) - $2.99 - Light RTS with split-screen or online co-op. I'm picking this up to see what the co-op is all about!
  • The Banner Saga [] (PM) - $4.99 - Turn-based strategy steeped in Viking lore; very narrative heavy.
  • Darkest Dungeon [] (PML) - $6.24 - Pretty popular roguelite RPG about managing stress and progressing over time.
  • Faeria [] (PML) - $7.99 - Great spatial collectible card game. There are expansions but the base version will last a long time. PvP, puzzle mode, and more!
  • Armello [] (PML) - $13.99 - Digital boardgame with multiple win conditions, a decent story, and beautiful card animations.
A bunch of Tropico games + DLC are also on sale. Haven't played any of them but seems like a popular franchise:

I can personally vouch for FTL and Darkest Dungeon. FTL is one of the most simple yet engaging games i've ever played. I find myself coming back to it everyone once in a while to replay it. Its got so many ways to approach problems that it can be a different run everytime. When you first start playing it may feel unfair and unwinnable, but you can almost always find a way to win with enough runs under your belt.

DD is much more difficult in my eyes. It has an awesome aesthetic and great mechanics, but I could never personally get over the hump of feeling like I was being cheated by RNG. That being said I still put a ton of hours in it and enjoyed it, and recommend to anyone who enjoys a brutal challenge.

I really enjoyed most of the games listed in this deal. Wasn't a big fan of The Banner Saga, but that's just my own personal preference, and you should seek out others opinions on them. All the others, I enjoyed a lot.

I did not play Faeria and Armello yet.
