Is the Wyzecam still Dafang-hack compatible? I have one indoors for monitoring my kid's room. It's nice and small and runs stable for like a year now with Dafang firmware. Would like another one for other locations inside the house.

I'm definitely not comfortable with letting some company access to a camera inside my house. Heck, even outside my house would cross comfort lines with me.

I love Wyze products. If you want a catch your own car thief kit, this is it. I was tired of thieves breaking into my car so I set up a motion sensor under the steering wheel of my truck, hooked up a Wyze cam on the garage facing the truck, and a Wyze outlet hooked up to a lamp on my night stand. Burglar opens the truck door, starts rummaging thru your truck, sensor goes off and tells your outlet (lamp) to turn on, light shines right in your face lighting up the shotgun right next to the bed, you call police and hold the punk kid at gunpoint til the cops come

I have no clue. But it starts tomorrow and I'm hoping for a good set of deals non like the years before. Specially since Amazon was selling $10 wyze cameras just last week or so..

Its also available for free shipping. I tried wyze pan cam and it would reboot randomly and reset back to annoying default position. I don't think wyze makes reliable products.

I thought I got this set for $70 few weeks ago. Maybe I am remembering incorrectly. Installed at parent's house and contact sensor battery is already low.

I've got several cams around house. Birds regularly set off the person detection. The mount is quite frustrating to get just right when using under soffets. As someone else mentioned the Pan is frustrating to get to stay aimed at one spot.

When I add a new camera the whole system gets flaky until the new camera gets done with 2 or 3 firmware updates. Highly recommend getting them going and updated before installing at desired location.

Thinking about going back to Arlo.

I have no experience with the blink cameras, so I can't say. However I know that there will supposedly be an add on support for local recording in the future with an additional module purchase. I think blink is still a cloud sub service only. Don't quote me on that one.

If you're really looking for a good indoor camera, I recommend the xiaomi. People here will tell you it's Chinese spyware and pings Chinese servers, but so does wyze, even though wyze an American company. My friend has been using them for 5 years, no issue.

Otherwise, you kinda go with the nvr or rtsp diy route.

Starting this month Wyze person detection will only be available as a subscription starting at $2 per camera.

I went with the eufy 2k cam indoor camera which is much better than wyze.

I kept the wyze pan so I can still use the contact sensors and motion sensors.
