Shure SE215 Wired Sound Isolating Earbuds, Gen 2, Clear or Black $55.

This is my first real post. Yes, these are wired and yes I'm sure there are many cheaper and smaller options available in this category. If you know of anything functionally wrong with this specific model or know anything about the gen4's launching, please share, but please don't downvote because you like wireless or something.

I've been watching the Gen2 SE215's for a few weeks on Amazon and they've been $79. CCC said lowest wad $59, but this morning I saw 2 if the colors dropped to $55

Clear:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...0DER&psc=1 Expired, now $99

Black:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C7JB...UTF8&psc=1

I splurged on a pair if e5c's years ago and the se846's look so awesome, but holy sh!t what a difference in price. I am sure these will be more than adequate for my conference calls and YouTube

Also have both SE215 Wired and wireless of these. as a multi million miler flier these keep me sane from the noises on planes. worst problem is I cant hear outside sound Smilie other day I was on treadmill in my house and missed doorbell for Mr UPS needed a signature.. Oh well I guess this is what you call a good problem..

These you truly cant hear the noises on a plane. Have had flight attendants in my face yelling to me and I cant hear them... I joke about people who carry their big BOSE headsets.. 10X the size for less quality sound never mind the 3X cost. I wear Shure for Sound and not BOSE for SHOW off.

Suggestion.. buy the wireless for $79 and then add the cable after as its cheaper that way. I believe you can find the cable for like $20 to $30 So for $99 to $110 you can get both wired and wireless.

Wireless: https://www.amazon.com/Shure-SE21...JQ3W7?th=1 and yes he wireless have a microphone in it too.. but I am not crazy about microphone sound on the wireless. its a little too sensitive on people hearing me breathe

And then find the wired cable aftermarket. CAREFUL and make sure you buy the wired cable with the microphone as it comes in handy for zoom and webex or other online computer things.. and YES the wireless syncs fine with my MAC and my ThinkPad but you really need the wired cable for computer due to the over sensitivity of the mic on the BT wireless.
Nice deal. I have the original 215s. The audio quality is decent, I find them bass heavy. My guess is that the only changes are the cords and the drivers remain the same so it should have similar sound signature. I used mine for the gym.

Only bringing this up because OP mentioned them, I also own the 846, and they are a different beast. Much better sounding audio across all spectrums.
I love mine. I have both wireless and 3.5 corded.

I recall the first CC I was on and the President of my company said Hi, when I responded he was amazed at the sound quality and how good I sounded on his end.

(Backstory I work for a Global Audio Visual company and we travel the globe installing high end video conferencing rooms.)

The only issue I have had was the earbud popped off once while I had it tucked in my shirt when I was moving boxes. Luckily it fell down into my tucked in undershirt.

Cheers

Great price and IEM for anyone to get started into iem game. I got a pair of these about 5-6 years ago, still love them. I have slowly worked my way up to se846 and Weston w80.

Thanks for the feedback. What seems cool about the current lineup is that it seems like i should be able to swap the cords if I upgrade. Not that I'm expecting the cord to wear frequently, but if i add the bluetooth to these 215's, I should be able to use it if my numbers come in and i get those 846's Smilie

Also I think that the communication cord that comes with these 215's normally sells for $29 on its own, so if anyone happens to need just the cord, this might be something to consider since you're getting the buds and cords for $55. Hope that isn't indicative that a change is on the horizon.

FWIW, if you're working your way up, I'd look into campfire audio. I was able to get my 846 open box for $700, but I also own original andromedas that I got as b stock for $810. The 846 have a much nicer fit for my ear, but the clarity of the andromedas is far superior. I feel like the 846 has more bass impact, but it's not as controlled as the andromedas.

My whole point in bringing this up is if I had to do it all over again and could only chose one, the 846 would not be the route I went. Just my 2 cents

Agreed on using these on the plane. I also transitioned using these type of IEM on the plane over NC cans. Easier to travel with and block out noises way more efficiently.

I also own 2 pair of these. Wireless and wired. Love them. Also these are the best iem's to listen to when laying in bed, their flat profile is the best and you can lay on them without feeling uncomfortable.

Had a pair of SE215's a few years ago. They sounded muffled and lacked clarity. Bass was also poor and, while present, lacked power and definition. Much happier now with my sony XB90's (for bass) and Airpods Pro.
