I have this monitor and it's freaking awesome if you have multiple machines and only want one monitor. It can also act like a KVM with a single keyboard/mouse.

Until HDMI 2.1 trickles down to 43" TVs, DP is the only way to get 4:4:4, 4K @ 60Hz [corrected: at 10-bit color depth.].
This comment set off a whole bunch of comments about refresh rate. Most 4k TV's from good manufactures (TCL, Sony, Samsung, LG, Vizio) are Chroma 4:4:4 at 60hz, just like this monitor.

I got this from the last deal. Compared to a TV, the text clarity is slightly better. But major pros in terms of convenience. This has USB-C port with PD, USB hub, DP and HDMI. The LG software with split-screen works great as well. The speakers on this are decent. Its light enough, due to the stand but you would need a large desk but it does free up space in the middle which for me was useful to keep my wireless charger.

Overall, for me it was worth paying $200 premium over a TV, but may not be for everyone depending on how much these features are worth it to you.
"the text clarity is slightly better" isn't very technical or specific. It's much better than a TV without chroma 4:4:4 or an RGBw panel, or are you comparing it to a TV with a VA panel and a BRG subpixel layout? Comparing this monitor to "a TV" doesn't make much sense because all TV's are different, just like monitors. RTings is a good resource to find out specifics about a monitor or TV. https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/best/by-usage/pc-monitor [rtings.com]

Difference vs 4k TVs
The big differences between this monitor and the $300 LG un7300 are:
1) 10-bit color
2) 120hz backlight on the TV
3) Need for HDMI 2.0 vs DisplayPort. (can buy DP to hdmi 2.0 club3d adapter for $30)
4) The Semi-Gloss vs Matt finish.

The finish plays a roll in reflection handling, but in some situations where you do not have light behind you, it does not matter. Apple makes glossy monitors and charges quite a bit for them.

Is it worth paying $500 for this vs ~$230 for a Vizio with 480hz backlight and a VA panel? [rtings.com] I decided to go with the Vizio and I am happy with it. I needed to buy a club3d diaplyport to HDMI 2.0 adapter for my older laptop. It works great at 60hz. With HDMI 1.4 it looked fine at 30hz, but I noticed 30hz when moving windows around. I also needed to run the clear type wizard on my monitor to calibrate the BGR panel as Windows defaults cleartype to RGP subpixel layouts.

The s425 4 series from TCL is just over $200 and it's backlight is flicker free down to 17/100 brightness. VA panel. Very low input lag and fast response times.

Mounts
Also for all the people asking about mounts... This monitor has a 200x200 vesa mount pattern, just like most TV's in this size. You can buy a 200x200 m6 to 100x100 m4 adapter for about $10 on amazon. I am using one right now to mount my 40 inch 4k Vizio v405-g9 on a standard VIVO monitor arm.

Window Management:
On Windows 10, i recommend downloading Microsoft PowerToys and using Fancy Zones.
It is free, and made by Microsoft. Fancy Zones is easy to use and you can set it so using the windows key and arrows will move windows to zones rather than the default left right side of monitor. With a 43 inch monitor this is quite helpful.

I have an LG OLED B7 and had a Samsung 43"4k TV which I was using as a monitor before this LG monitor. With HDMI 2.0 connection, I was able to set it to 8bit RGB on both TVs, and thus the comparison. Text looked slightly but noticeably better (not enough for the $200 difference). The other features such as usb c/hub and Displayport, matte screen made it more worth it for me.

For anyone with a mac on the fence, this monitor is amazing. The ability to feed 4 separate inputs at the same time is also incredible. The speakers are decent for the price also (I was genuinely surprised and expected trash).

The only complaints I have is that the usb c port doesn't charge the device it's connected to if the display is powered off and for some reason even if the input isn't selected your device will "see" and behave as though there is an active external display. So if you have it set that the external is your main monitor you can't see the window you just opened without switching inputs or unplugging the cable to the monitor.

Running two MacBook pros, a pc and a raspberry pi to this beast and all my hopes dreams have been realized now I just need to convince my wife to let me get a second 🤣

Is this any better than the TV equivalent available at Costco under $300?
There are 2 that I have used from Costco. I am using the 43" LG right now as I wanted the IPS screen over VA (samsung)

LG:
https://www.costco.com/lg-43%22-c...62695.html

Samsung:

https://www.costco.com/samsung-43...49147.html

These both make excellent monitors that double as a TV. Sharp text, vibrant colors, smooth frame rates and LOW input lag!

I so want this but leery about Buydig. I read in the thread someone got one in a beat up box. Is this still the case?

Bought two of these through BuyDig which my wife/I use for work and love them. We had no issues with the shipping and they both came in perfect condition. The use case for us is having multiple extended desktops for work and the wide variety of ports, USB-C charging and video out, and decent built-in speakers are a win in my book. I personally have no issues with the picture quality and have a 1080ti PC hooked up to this for sporadic gaming (although I wouldn't consider myself a hardcore gamer by any means).

if you wanted ips, you could get two LG 43un6950 TVs for $228 each regular price. from walmart for less than this.

that has IPS, probably about the same shitty 72% ntsc gamut, and RBG pixels.

LG finally woke up and stopped using rbgw

let's be real, you're not gonna plug 4 pc's into this shit and dividing the screen like that.

Just received my monitor today. The box had a tear and the display was destroyed. Not sure I would blame buydig as much as FedEx and LG, for not packaging the display side better.

They just emailed me instructions to print out the return label and said to just order a new one through their site, which I can't since the coupon is expired. So that's pretty inconvenient.

I wouldn't worry about ordering from BuyDig, as I've ordered from them before without issues. It just the packing of this large monitor was so fragile and shipping was less than stellar that the monitor was destroyed.
