75" sells at $850. Not sure willing to almost paying double for 82". Yes VA panel is better, yes 7" bigger is a lot bigger, still not sure worth the $700 more.

We're trying to decide which one to get. I was in best buy and the 75 inch isn't available any more. But we heard VA is better and someone said the 82 inch has a better warranty than BB and you get that extra $100 Allstate by going with Costco so we may join just for the TV. We're coming from a 70 inch 4K 2018 modern Vizio that isn't working well anymore with our Nakamichi soundbar after a firmware update. So if we upgrade our TV if rather go from 70 to 82 over 75 but price wise I'm like you not so sure. I know it says $100 Hulu e gift code what is that? We have Hulu with ads free with our Verizon cellphone plan.

The LG 75" version is the IPS version. To extend the warranty to 5 yrs on TV's less than $1000 at Costco is an extra $65, bringing it to $915 vs. $1550 for the 82" VA panel in this thread. Going from 75" to 82"/85" in the same model from a reputable brand will cost roughly $500 to $1000 more. This one is kinda in the middle. Y'all just need to decide if the trade-offs between VA vs. IPS would be acceptable to your viewing habits for the lesser size and lower price. The only real advantage to the IPS version is wider viewing angles (if you sit off to the side while watching instead of in front of the TV). Just remember, if you select either of these TV's you do have a 90 day return window at Costco. You mentioned in the Samsung thread about the width of your stand being an issue for the 82", though you expect to eventually wall mount. If you go with the 82", you can always get something like I have attached to tide you over. Good luck!

Thank You! I showed my husband that Amazon link. Nakamichi sent him one more thing to try to get our vizio working but I don't know if it's going to work. But he was watching a you tube video and someone said 2.1 is only for gaming and if we really needed it. He wondered what else it was for and if it had to do with sound at all. Our TV now the Vizio has a dedicated HDMI that is ARC only is it the same with this do you know? We are going to Costco tomorrow and more than likely will join and look at the TV. He asked if their were any other brands with HDMI 2.1 and e-arc that might be better but in this price range I didn't think so and we like the warranty Costco has. And it is just the two of us sitting in front of the TV and we watch alot at night after work and it's dark we turn the lights out. I said if we have a 70 inch now and really want to upgrade we should do 82 inch.

What exactly is the 5 year thing 1 from LG and Allstate says 3 what is the other year? He got our Nakamichi working the old way which hadn't been working so it's back to normal we just can't have this latest SSE firmware update it's not working. So now we need to really decide what to do by tomorrow. Thanks for the info though

Yes... HDMI 2.1 adds features to better gaming experience and eARC... if you ever add a sound system that supports Dolby Atmos/TrueHD. This LG's HDMI#3 is for ARC. As the warranty goes, you are correct for yrs 1 and 3 - 5... yr 2 is covered by Costco Concierge. As far as other TV's that would offer HDMI 2.1 features of this TV at this price point... or maybe $100-$150 more. I would say... Sony X90CH/X900H, Samsung Q70T, and Vizio PQ Series 2020. All three would probably provide a better picture, and dropping to 75" to get that similar pricing. Your Costco probably carries the Sony and Vizio in-store; I haven't seen that Samsung (in that size) in my Costco... so you can also check-out those too. I believe they currently cost a little more than the LG, but with the holiday shopping season upon us, there could be sales right around the corner... i.e., the Sony 75" X90CH was on sale for $1570 a couple of weeks ago. I hope this info helps. Happy hunting!

I wish we could talk on the phone LOL! We have so many more questions. You know so much. We have a Nakamichi 9.2.24 soundbar now we bought in 2018 with our 70 inch Vizio 4K which I googled specs and it also has VA panel. The Nakamichi has a new 2020 soundbar out that is the same as ours but has this new sound feature SSE Spacial Sound something maybe enhancement but anyway the whole reasoning of buying a new TV was our soundbar got the new firmware update to do this SSE which my husband really wanted and it's not working with our Vizio. Under CEC it's not recognizing the Nakamichi. We've gone through all steps with support they say it's Vizio but why would the old firmware work and not the new. We tried 2 or 3 times and always had to put the old back on. So that is why we want a new TV in the 1st place.

Ok so now my husband says we don't need 82 actually 75 is just fine. Which means we don't really have to join Costco if we don't do the LG we were only doing it for the warranty. And my husband said oh I saw some TV manufacturer that came with their own 5 year and it's Sony. So I just got off the phone with the guy at Costco in the TV Dept. He said the Sony may be a bit more but it is better and will have a better picture even though it's a little more and only 75 inch. It will be 1569 over 1768 on 11/20 but he said their will only be so many and we may not get one. We have a 90 day return policy and they won't give us back the difference and I said so I can return ours and just buy a new one and he was like yeah. But that's so much trouble you would think bringing in your receipt would be enough. I don't know that we would really get one or how many they usually get in. But the Sony is 1769 and only that price today. At Costco is list model # XBR75X90CH at BB it list XBR75X900H so now I am confused or maybe Costco is the same under another model # I have to google more now.

So I asked him if he had an opinion on the Sony or the Samsung you mentioned cause we don't want Vizio again and I even googled and read about problems from people with soundbars and Vizio TV's. So now if go Sony we can go to Best Buy, And I am not familiar with WEB OS or Android TV but we have Samsung Android phones. And the Sony has all 4 2.1 HDMI's my husband wondered why LG would have 2 and 2 and not all the new 2.1 is there a reasoning we should still have some 2.0's? Now that we think we might want the Sony I have to go and research prices and read reviews all over again. Do you prefer the Sony over the Samsung one you mentioned? I am sorry I am writing a book and this is so long buy you seem to know what your talking about and I really appreciate your input.

Our Nakamichi 9.2.4 Shockwafe has 2 subs and has Dolby Atmos and more and it sounds like your in a movie theater. My husband loves it so much! And we do want the best picture and the Costco guy said between
Direct Lit LED-LCD or Full-Array LED-LCD the Sony Full was better. I think our Vizio now auto adjust brightness or something my husband said. So anyway thanks again I may have more questions but now we are leaning towards Sony. Should we wait till 11/20th and chance trying to get one? Do you think if we went to Costco and said were returning this with our receipt cause it's cheaper they won't want to go through the hassle and may just go ahead and credit us the difference? I am not familiar with Costco at all. But if Best buy has the Sony we probably will get it there and I don't know their policies.

Ok I am editing with one more thing i am guessing the Costco 90CH verses the Best Buy 900H is the same just under different model numbers but the Best Buy says 1 yr warranty on parts and labor at Costco it says 5 years and my husband says that may be a typo cause consumer reports talks about it only being a 1 year. And where was it on sale for 1570 at a couple weeks ago? Cause if it goes cheaper BB said they credit you except for BF but I just called back Costco and they assured me they have a deal with Sony now and it is a 5 year warranty so were headed to Costco now to go look at it.

In 75", the Sony X90CH is the one that I mentioned in my previous post, and is also the one to which you are referring. YES, I would pick that over the Samsung model I mentioned. The Sony has better reviews, and it comes with a 5 yr mfg warranty. You said that the Sony was going to be on sale for $1569 on 11/20. Costco does have a 30 day price match guarantee, though I never have used it. The associate probably didn't realize that 11/20 is less than 30 days away. You can just take your receipt to customer service at Costco, or even do it over the phone, to get the difference refunded. Just need to make sure you do that during the price drop. No need to pack up your TV. The Sony model at BB would be model X900H; Costco changes the model number for price matching purposes. At BB this model is currently $30 more, and only comes with a 1 yr mfg warranty. Adding the the BB Geek Squad 5 yr warranty is an extra $380. It definitely makes it worth joining Costco.

Thanks so much! We are headed to Costco now and I was editing my last post and you already replied I see. Cause I was saying my husband said maybe we should do the 65 for 969 but we have 70 now I don't want to downgrade? He said it's not much difference but at such a good TV and our last big purchase I think we should do 75 and he's starting to agree so I was erasing the part about what's your thoughts on 65 or should we pay more and do 75? But we are selling our one Vizio for $400 hopefully. But do you know is the 65 VA also and is this a 2020 model? And they said they don't price match around the holidays even though 11/20 is before BF. So I guess we will find out we are going there now they close at 6 we need to hurry. Thanks so much for all your input!

DO NOT downgrade size. Also, I decided to get the Sony as well. I went to Best Buy and saw all three (LG, Samsung, and Sony) of the recent thread TVs. Sony was easily the best and all of the X90CH/X900H are VA. I suggest you go to Costco and buy a Sony.

Hope all goes well at Costco. Hope you purchase the 75" Sony; you will be happier instead of dropping down to a 65". If you make your purchase and have a problem price matching, as you said, when the Sony goes on sale 11/20, there is another option. What has been said in other threads is: Make the new (lower priced) purchase in the store, and then go to customer service with the item and return the one you just bought using the old receipt. Saves from packing up the original purchase.

Hope you are happy with you're Sony purchase too. I need to find a way to make room for a 75". I stretched to get my 65" Q70R last year. It's great, but I know I would like the 75" Sony even more.

Thank You! I splurged for sure and bought the 85". It should last years though. Any recommendation on post-sale warranty? I am buying from Greentoe and didn't opt for their option.

Does that work? I just said to my husband the same thing I said can I try to purchase on-line on 11/20 and than return the new one with the old receipt and he said no cause he thought it might have the serial number on the receipt and somehow they would know. I have no idea but I know on 11/20 which is considered their BF the week before the store will be packed and he said you can order online so if I was lucky to get one for the lower price I guess I could order it and find a way to return it with the old receipt.

Anyway you really helped us out a lot and after having a 70 inch I really wanted the 75 and like I said we only did this cause his Nakamichi wasn't playing well with the Vizio so now if this updated Nakamichi firmware with SSE doesn't work with the Sony I'll be so upset. But because of you and my husband saying maybe 82 is too big for our room is why we went with Sony 75 inch over the LG 82 inch.

Did you say you ended up getting this same one? I really didn't want the 65 but I hope this ends up being worth it and better than our 70 inch Vizio 4K with smartcast. Will we be able to cast to this TV if needed? My husband is setting it up now. I hope were not disappointed But OK I am goin g to read some more reviews and read up more about this TV. I really know nothing about it since I was focused on the LG 82 inch one. The guy at Costco even said he recommended this over Samsung like you said..

But Ok thanks again and sorry for all my long dragged out post. But spending as much as we did I had to be sure we got a really good one. I know it's not the best but the regular price is 2499 so I still thing we got a good deal $700 plus it was $30 cheaper at Costco to make up for us joining at $60. Can't wait till he's done and it's setup. What's a good movie to watch to test out the TV?
