The only reason to even consider this is if you need the high CPU power. Otherwise there will be better deals. Most people don't need that.

Walmart page also has wrong info on webcam, 720p, see link in previous post

True-no backlit keyboard. Bought at same price 2-3 wks ago for husband. His laptop died and after waiting a couple weeks for 'deals', this looked good for his mininal needs. After using for two weeks now he loves it. Good specs for lower end laptop.

Thanks for the details! I'll update my post once once I have access to a computer. I don't know how to do that from the phone app. 😁👍

Does not seem like a very special deal.
If it was a 4500 vs 3500 it may pique my interest.....

Also the Idea Pad 3 line is generally a cheaper build overall than the ideapad 5, when you are trying to look beyond specs....so this does not have that going for it either.

I would likely consider the i5 Acer from walmart with similar specs that was $399 last time i looked but often on sale for $350

Exactly. I have a flex 14 with 3500U with 12GB RAM and I can't change the background of my webcam video on zoom. It is a decent laptop for under USD 500 but I'd wait for Black Friday at this point.

Also remember 8GB RAM is actually 8 - 2 or 6 GB because we need 2GB for integrated graphics.

At this price point, there is no reason to get 3500... Get at least ryzen 4500 or Intel 10th gen

The screen on the Ideapad 3 is washed out and it has a 0.3mp webcam. For $50 more, Ideapad 5 is a better buy.

Ok but Lenovo really disappoints me. A Thinkpad at work has a broken key or two after barely a year. Also have a barely used cheap $400 laptop I bought last September that now dies at 60% battery.

What series are you talking about? When referring thinkpad, we usually mean the X, T, and P series as they are considered the real thinkpad quality.

Also, if only needing a Ryzen 4500u, thinkpad x13 AMD can go as low as sub 700, and that has the top build quality, if anyone is interested. Just search in the forum.
