Is it much better than the $80 Fire HD 10 ?
Almost anything is. Amazon has really limited thier tans with thier software. We have had many tablets both Amazon Fire line and other. The build quality on the Amazon tablets is good I have an old one still working after many years. Problem is Amazon is horrible at the software UI and keeping it up to date.

I bought this last November for $200 and would buy it again.

- Very well built.
- Using mostly for home security and streaming video/music apps.
- Works well with Skype video calls.
- Pairs with a Bluetooth keyboard for added flexibility.
- Uses a USB C power connection.

Would anyone recommend this over the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7? That also on sale at Walmart for $170.

I have an original Yoga 8" tablet from around 6 years ago, apart from an OS bug where I have to disconnect the battery when it powers off with too little battery it actually still works fairly well. I tend to use it at the gym on the treadmill to watch tv while I jog. these things also have way better speakers than the price lets on.

If I didnt have an xda tools modded Kindle Fire 10 sitting around Id jump on this.

Though I played with this before at BB and the build quality, speed, screen etc are miles better than that kindle imho. Speakers I think are supposed to be a selling point on these too. Stock Android>Fire OS.

I second that on speaker quality. That could be the deciding factor over the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 for some.

Thanks for the first hand info.

1. Can this cast to a Chromecast?
2. Can you stream at full 1080p resolution from Amazon Prime etc.?

I don't see this tablet on Netflix's android HD list which is a shame.

thanks, both have decent specs. You just trade off battery life once you start jacking up the CPU.

It would be hard to beat the Quad Dolby Speakers on the Samsung Tab A7 but I haven't heard the Yoga yet.

I recently got the fire tablet 10 for a little under $75.. my expectations weren't too high but I'm very pleased so far. Did the fire toolbox to disable and remove all the Amazon junk. It's now a pure android tablet. I didn't install a bunch of apps or games so the memory is fine for me and although it's only 2GB ram it runs really well. I mainly stream youtube, youtube tv, a little netflix. I also use it for web surfing. For these things, it's been great . The display is nice and gets bright. Zoom, Skype and all that works good. Camera quality is crappy but I don't know if this is that much better. Overall, it's really good for half the price of this. Depends on your needs I guess.

Wasn't easy to find, but I'd recommend you check for lineage support if you care about updates.
