They actually want to move you to FlexVolt tools and this is the way they are doing it. The video below is a comparison of a FlexVolt vs FlexVolt advantage circ saw. It is recent. https://search.aol.com/aol/video;...ction=
So, you buy the "advantage" tool with a Flexvolt Battery "Free." The Advantage tool does give you some marginal improvement over the regular 20 volt circ saw WHEN USING A FLEXVOLT BATTERY.
This is a good deal...sort of like a loss leader to a degree... They give you an "improved" 20 Volt tool with the bigger battery and NOW you have a flexVolt battery. Their normal pricing usually turns people off and represents a barrier to moving people into the 60 volt tools.
But now you got a FlexVolt battery...and you watch videos like that one above and others like this https://search.aol.com/aol/video;...ction=
Does this make Home Depot a pusher man and FlexVolt Advantage tools a gateway drug? It's a sick sick world... Hey man, can I have a hit? Cmon man, just one...
That being said, if you want all the power you can handle, and don't mind the weight and size, then grab this for sure.

Edit: after doing some research, it seems that the flexvolt advantage line is in between XR and a true flexvolt in terms of power output when using a flexvolt batter; the true flexvolt is still at the max power output. Close decision, but seems I'll be keeping the XR.

I use this hammer drill around the house a decent amount, and it's a great tool. A bit bigger and heavier, but not overly so in my opinion. I have the 20V XR drill/driver and use it more, but if it's setup for something, I just grab this and go, it's not like a huge burden.
Now, if you're drilling in big lags or big holes, this guy has the oomph....just make sure that you're braced for it, or it'll twist ya around pretty seriously. For example, my wife doesn't use it even if it would be a better tool for what she's doing, just because it can grab and torque ya pretty seriously.
This saw is only able to cut in two directions, the Amazon one has 4. I might stick with the lesser powered one for the versatility. Just figured I'd share since I'm in same debate boat.

Thanks! Need to do some brick and concrete drilling, fence repairs, around the house miscellaneous. Looking to spend more on quality that I'll have a long time but In this case, seems the hammer drill is for heavier tasks. I do want to go dewalt since I have a tool/battery already. Will head to HD to find the kit later today. Great feedback all and very appreciated!
