It looks like a great deal with this price.

Can someone please comment on the quality and built? I am thinking to buy this. Some people complained about the audio/video.

I had this laptop about 2 months ago. Actually, I had 2 of them, in a 1 month period. Build quality seems great but it is not reliable. Both laptops had the same issue, audio would die at random when on zoom. Error message would say that speakers and mic were disconnected, speakers would stay buzzing as if there was a hardware issue. Had to restart in order to get sound again. First laptop was returned to bestbuy and replacement had the same issue. HP techs said it was a known issue and the drivers directly from AMD website would solve it. After 3 weeks of trying just about everything HP support could think of, there was no fix. Ended up returning the second laptop as well.

Did you look into upgrading memory? One review calls it "not upgradable" because many screws are under glue etc. while several others say they upgraded it.

Whatever you are describing is not the laptop in the deal. This is a AMD Ryzen 7 laptop and the memory is upgradable. You remover rubber strips from the bottom revealing screws to open it.

It's upgradeable. I went with 16gb ram and 1 tb ssd. It's true, most screws are under the rubber feet strips which are stuck with an adhesive. Peel carefully and slowly, they're reusable. Still had the audio issues. Before and after the upgrade, on both laptops.

No worries. That's what I've been waiting for since those hp's let me down. I looked at the spectre x360, which is supposed to be better, at bestbuy... floor model had the exact same audio error. Not sure how I feel about hp anymore...

I have a family member who got the R5 model of this laptop last summer and it has the same problem. There are lots of threads on hp's website about the issue, but no fix. I do not suggest buying this until the issue is confirmed to be fixed.

Here's one example: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Not...-p/7733483

Because of the nature of the issue it could be the sound card drivers, the amd drivers, or windows 10. So it's impossible to know whether to blame hp, amd, or microsoft.

I bought x360 core i7 version. Battery drains 10% every 6 hrs tgey replaced battery then motherboard. I purchased hp carw pack so tgey provided with a envy 360 replacement which looks good so far. Pavilion build is not as same it used to be. Very flimsy.

That was such an easy fix... I got this one for my wife, had exactly the same issue your describing. There was a problem with August release drivers. Solution - upgrade to October release or roll back to June. Works like a charm!

Question is: is this the 250nit version or the upgraded 400nit... the latter one that I got for the missus is friggin' fantastic! If that's the same, I'm changing my Asus ROG to this one!
