Same price, but with a bonus four (small) base plates. Bought this last time around, also bought the one that Costco had last year (very similar to the current one), and the 1500 classics set that went up for $36 on Amazon around September '19. These are good starter sets. My girl is 5, and spends an hour or two a day building with them for the last 10 months.

Also got a generic collection of doors and windows that are a bit better than the brand name ones, and a couple of small sets, and 1000 cheap generic basic blocks (these sets are heavy on the very small pieces), and a dozen good large base plates to make tables with. Trust me, you want the tables. And bins.

Thanks! Saw this one at Walmart a while back and was waiting for it to drop to get as a Christmas gift for my son.

I remember this last year. It literally impossible to get these (in store then). They had maybe 15 units on hand to honor the price.

Do you happen to remember the generic name of the sets you purchased?

Play Platoon windows doors and roof tops

Strictly briks 10" x 10" stackable baseplates 12 pack

I'm afraid I don't recall the brand for the 1000 piece generic set, I don't even remember if it was from Amazon.

Amazon. Search for compatible bricks, there's a whole slew of options. Read the reviews carefully. Use fakespot. There are good brands, and really awful brands. Garunk seems to be good. The ones I mentioned in my other reply are good.

Crazy my walmart had them for days after black friday and 2 yrs before that the 1600 piece $30 black friday bundle as well, my kid still has 2 boxes from 2017 he hasn't even opened yet. For the price if you have a chance to get a few on black friday for $30 do so. It's amazing how many times I've said, I'm so glad we got these for so cheap on black friday... Kids who are into Legos will want to build the biggest baddest anything and you'll need the Legos to do so
