The best is the Apex brand socket adapter.... what the Pro's use for commercial work, but can be expensive. I have some that are at least 30 years old and used a lot with impacts. Normally, we buy the socket size itself, such as 7/16" that is used a lot on curtain wall applications, but even their Phillips bits outlast the box store brands by a far margin. One Apex Phillips to five DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, etc., would not be uncommon. For years, all bits were called Apex bits, just like all circular saws were coined Skil saws... the first to manufacture, I guess.

FYI, we often buy from Chicago based CRL (C.R. Lawrence), a supply house that bought out their competitor, Sommer & Maca some years ago, so the price has gone up.... but what hasn't. Sometimes, you can find on eBay from a seller that does not know what they have, or bought a quantity from surplus or bankruptcy auctions.

That said, the Apex we have are made in the USA and stamped as such on the bit,or adapter, whereas some lines may or may not have been outsourced to China, Taiwan, etc., like everyone else.

I was waiting for the price to go down post holiday, but it never did. Likely will sell out first before price goes down.

Another bonus is husky warranty.

These are specifically for impact guns, right? Can't be used with non-powered wrenches?

Edit: nvm, seems I was wrong?
