This is a super powerful drill. I was drilling 1 1/8th holes in old hard fir studs the other day with it and it caught, and turned my spade bit into a twist bit.

Super torquey, careful, itll bust your wrist.
Definitely the downside of brushless drills. I set all my chucks from the drill setting down to a high torque/clutch setting for this reason alone. Had a friend tear a muscle in his arm from a corded brushless drill and has needed multiple surgeries. Crazy stuff
Do I need this?

true that, thisll be the first time i ever actually use the chuck setting on a drill. On my older drills i always just had it maxed out and would drill by feel

This isn't a brushless tool, right? I can't find any reference to this.

Same hammer drill I got in the P884 6 piece kit at Direct Tool for $60. That was a killer deal for a Recon kit. Only used it a few times but works fine, don't think it's as strong as my reg. brushless drill driver.

Would a corded version be better/worse for any reason? I just got the corded version. Wondering if I should switch

You might want the step up from this, the rotohammer with the hammer feature, it's nice for $99

These sales stack with the buy more save more, up to 50 off 250. Still far from Ryobi days deals but acceptable.

Battery and charger not included, almost missed that. What's a good option for an aspiring diy new home owner?

Shoot. Now I wish I didn't buy this thing as I don't really need that much power. It's still in the box. Lol
