Lowes had it for 399 with the stand that normally sells for 150-199 around the holidays for the last 2 years. I wanted to bite last year and couldn't fit it into my budget at the time. I hope they have a similar deal this year. This is a decent price though.
I'll wait until it's $289, or $349 with stand. (Or wait until the shadow line one gets dirt cheap.)

I dont need it, I prefer my Bosch over the Dewalt. However, as a tool junkie, it is the best of the lower priced compound sliding miters. And I've been wanting a more portable sliding miter so I can mount to a 4-way flip table.

edit: Yes, I know I can get the parts to mount the shadow line system, but I have a buddy (an engineer) that did it, and he said it wasnt worth the trouble co soldering how much the parts cost and difference in price between laser guide and shadow guide factory saws. Also, he said it was a ridiculously huge pain I. the *** to do.

double edit: after seeing it doesnt come with laser, and is 3800rpm, I'm making it a hard "PASS". I'm going for the Makita actually. for some reason I thought the DWS779 was a 5000+ RPM saw.
I suppose "the SD way" would be to buy this now from Amazon, then return if a better BF deal shows up but keep if not. Suppose I should set a good example too huh...

DEWALT Sliding Compound Miter Saw, 12-Inch (DWS779) for $349 at Amazon. I know I've heard it's been lower on previous BF sales, but according to the camels this is the lowest ever on Amazon.

Something tells me you don't know what you're talking about... Perhaps it's the fact that it's $399 at Lowe's 🤷🏻 ♂️

I agree. My Lowes says it has 30 in stock. Hopefully good deal on the horizon.

Would this be an overkill for the average homeowner or DIYer? Eyeing Dewalt just because everything else I have is dewalt. Don't know too much about other brands. I built my first 12x8x10 structure this past summer and managed to do it with a borrowed old miter and a rusted out blade. Would love to see what a newer miter can do.

I'm hoping for a deal on the Bosch. Ive used a friend's a few times and it is fantastic. Crossing fingers for a sub-$400 deal, but not holding my breath.
