While I'm slightly disappointed this is not a Ryzen version, this machine looks better in every other aspect to the Zephyrus G15. I was just telling my wife that I am going to refrain buying a laptop until after the holidays unless something crazy happens. This is that crazy thing. Luckily, Best Buy's holiday return policy is active so I have until mid January to return it if I need to.
Picking this up tonight. I'll review it tomorrow and post my thoughts in the next few days.
Don't be fool about Max-Q. I own this laptop. (price match Best buy, thank OP).. and the 2070 Max-q is a beast. with max-q dynamic, it boost to 105 watt... It easily outperforms my old GS65 with RTX2060. Easy by 20-30fps difference in the games I play. For example RDR2 on the 2060 the best I could get was 30-35fps on high-medium mixture settings.. This one I'm getting 50-55fps on Ultra-high mixture settings!! higher if i go back to high.. The thermal are great. CPU is liquid metal paste from factory. with some Undervolt, i getting 70-75C on CPU and 80ish on GPU...
Con for some:
No Camera (Not con for me)
8gb of the 16gb ram are soldered (big deal to some)
I bought both the G14 and M15 during the summer and after a bit of testing, I ended up keeping the M15. I was happy with my purchase initially, but eventually was frustrated with my choice. While I love the M15 overall, my biggest gripe with it is how often I make mistakes typing. I never had this problem with the G14, and honestly I wish I had paid attention to this minor detail. I find myself constantly hitting the media keys at the top when trying to go for the function keys. It's very annoying. After months of using this thing I still haven't got accustomed to it and can't wait for the day when I buy a new laptop so I can pass this thing down to my son.
get this instead.. lol.. this one has better GPU of course but also better screen...
120 hz is good enough for me. I'd rather have a more compact laptop with better battery that I'll occasionally play games with than a desktop replacement.

So then why are you waiting on the M15 gtx version when in reality it looks like you want the g14

This is a very compact laptop, not a desktop replacement.
It's less than an inch thick and weighs just over 4 lbs.
