Really good deal for these headphones. They are great for working out in as well. I've had two pairs. One was bitten up by my dog (she was a puppy then), and another pair that stopped working (probably I pulled the chord too hard). They are a great pair of headphones to throw around. That being said, I recently purchased the Sony workout headphones so don't need these but highly recommend!
Also, for my second set, the first time it stopped working, Apple actually sent me a brand new set for free. So keep that in mind too!
The new Beats Flex can be had for $50 as a FYI. They're the new version of the Beats X.
I ordered the flex specifically for the w1 chip to switch quickly between my mac and iphone, but they straight up refused to connect to my mac. Apple customer support was mumbling the whole time and just googling the same things I was so I hung up and returned them. My $17 bluetooth receiver from China has no issues switching back and forth. Pretty pathetic that an apple product refused to work with another apple product. I think this was the reason apple didn't talk about the flex at all during the iphone reveal.

They are brand new and your Mac might need an update to "catch" the pairing to your phone. I had the same issue. What fixes this however is to remove them from your phone and Mac and then pair them with the Mac first, that transfers to the iPhone and it works fine.
I had these and they didn't last me the year before they stopped working. I had to get an apple replacement. The replacement lasted me 3 and a half months and stopped working. By then, I was out of warranty. I see posts of people complaining for similar issues. I really think there is some sort defect on these.
They just replaced these with the 'Beats Flex' which are WAY cheaper than the X used to be so I wouldn't recommend them.
The new Flex are $49 new, use the same chip but sound a little better, they auto-stop music when you snap the in-ear buds together (via magnets), have better battery life, have a reworked button design and a much better mic and use USB-C to charge. I would get the Flex for $10 more. (in fact I did, have both, really, REALLY like the flex.)
I am on my third pair. Good sound in my opinion. Mic is good for calls. In my experience, don't hold the charge as advertised. First one died (official Best Buy refurb) and second one lost sound on one side after a while. I pretty much only use my current pair for when I am on a long phone call now. I had purchased a few on closeout at Walmart after the refurbs died.
These things shorted out twice for me within 6 months and then within a year of initially getting them. Apple replaced the first time, but was out of warranty period second time.
(Seeing prior post, seems like they had same issue as I did with one ear dying)
Good thing I paid with my Amex and they have extended warranty. Took the money, bought Jabra's instead and haven't looked back.
Though at this price point these aren't HORRIBLE if you don't care about longevity.
Feel the need to chime in here. Hopefully Apple will cover under 1 year, but I've had 5 of these in my family and 4 stopped functioning with no fix. Some sort of power issue. I'm in IT, so not mentally retarded, and I tried everything. Would not recommend these. And if you do, get a squaretrade warranty or something so you can get your money back when they inevitably die.

Same exact issue ... see my post. Check CC you paid with and use extended warranty. These sound good until they die prematurely.
I also agree the poster above, the quality is not great on these. I have 2 pairs of these and am glad I had purchased the extended warranty on both of these, one had to be replaced twice and the other once.

Because the fast switching requires the H1 chip, W1 chip wont do it. It also requires iOS 14 and MacOS Big Sur
