This is weird

https://www.androidauthority.com/...w-1142082/ says that this phone scored a 2k score for single core. That is TOTALLY not true and no way it is beating an iPhone.

true numbers look like this: https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/4424265

I have no idea what they are showing on their website there. Kind of funny they didn't post the link to their scores on the actual geekbench website.

I could be totally wrong, but I am pretty sure I am reading everything correctly.

I was interested in this phone but there's so many issues reported with the screen and only 1 year of software updates.
Yes 1 os update, which sucks bc Android 11 is minor. Still on August patch...No custom ROMs as there are no devs.

I had a recent model and it still had screen issues.

How much better performance does this 765 chip get over Pixel 4a's 730?
This CPU is between the 845 and 855. The GPU might be around the iPhone X.

The screen is way too curved and making it you always touching the screen when even just holding the phone so I am assuming the reviews that talks about ghosting and discoloring whihc is bound to happen for a design like that.

And to the point, Moto phones gets any update so spending $400 on one is not justifiable to me. The Pixel 4a much smaller phone would have much more usable life compared to this phone with better camera and lesser price.
Maybe an issue for those with fat hands (?). I've used many curved phones with cases, seems fine to me. You can disable the edge.

Thanks for the links. Looks like the OnePlus 7T outscores this phone (ignoring 5G and the giant battery). Will hold out for an Amazon sale on that to combine with the Tracphone $100 rebate.

Motorola phones are not great with Android updates. Pixel and One Plus wins over the extended OS updates and security patches.

My Bestbuy Review.
Even with a case and screen protector the phone screen has several cracks in it. This is because when you drop the phone and it lands on the side it hits nothing but exposed screen. Why did I buy this? Also the side display function is completely useless and is only a hindrance compared to any standard phone.

When you try and watch a video it extends to the curve so you can only see most but not all of a video. The side screen is also touch sensitive so you will most likely press things just by trying to hold the phone normally.

I only got this phone because it was on sale and I love my MotoZ2-Force. This was easily one of my worst big purchases and I regret it. The speed of the phone is fine but the entire functionality and scheme of the phone is pointless and counter intuitive. Its got flagship specs but I cant see myself or anyone else using this phone for games, videos, or work use. It looks sexy but I would recommend you choose a different moto phone or any other phone that doesn't have that side screen nonsense.

Pocofone F2 Pro has faster Snapdragon 865 chip and is $399 and OnePlus 7T with faster Snapdragon 855+ is also $399. Both areon ebay. This should be around $200 to be competitive with other 765G phones.

Look up "Speed Test G" on YouTube. Does great phone speed comparisons. Very scientific(but at the same time, exciting, lol). Not at all like typical youtube speed comparisons.

He's surely done at least one 730 vs 765 comparison.

I had the phone now for 2 Weeks ($495) and I love it - the colors are just amazing (no screen issues) and the curved edge is way cool. I am with T-mobile so the 5G works pretty well her in Phoenix.
In any case what sucks is that Amazon doesn't price adjust. So I have to return the one I have all set up (with screen protector on it) and order another one. Sigh - but it is nearly $100 - so worth the trouble I guess
