I ordered the i5 one for $999. Don't think it's that much of a difference with that i7 and 500gb vs 1tb doesn't do anything to me cause I use cloud and external hd for storage. I think it's the best bang for the buck from the whole X1 line.

The 999$ X1 vs the 899$ T14

Everything seems fairly equal, is the X1 worth it over the T14 for 100$?

The DDR3 vs 4 is really the only other main difference.

Lenovo loves to make us think that we're getting a deal by raising up the price really high and putting it "on sale" for 40-75% off when it's really the original price. If you're lucky, you may get up to 25% off their "sale" prices.
Theres a sucker born every minute willing to buy Lenovo.

I am also comparing these two. but the T14 I ordered has ryzen 5 pro processor which is supposed to be better than 10th gen i7.

Can you post a link?
Actually a 512 SSD can be had for as low as $55 for a decent brand.

Typical marketing to give the illusion your getting a killer deal. It never goes for $3200,. That's just an inflated marketing price so they can say "For a limited time, take 50% off" Typical consumers who don't know any better will fall for it.

Saw the Gram last night in store. Ordered the X1 a few days ago.

Very different target audience. The Gram, while very light, also have a very large footprint. It is far less portable and when size and weight matter, they are worth it to those that need it.

The Gram is crazy light for the screen size but it is so much bigger. It might not fit in whatever bag you are already using that would fit the X1. And it has a very plastic feel. Does not feel sturdy (don't know about actual durability).

The Gram looks better as something that is mostly used at a set location with occasional travel. I see the X1 as a travel device that might augment a primary desktop or maybe even with the TB dock to a fixed external monitor.

That said, I am surprised by all these great laptop deals ahead of BF.

Honestly, the carbon is light but I would probably go for the XPS 15 or 13 over the lenovo since deals with them have a graphics card vs an intel graphics card.

Who would choose a crappy consumer-grade laptop over a top-of-the-line business laptop LMAO

Yeah the ryzen 5 and 7 pro run circles around the U series from intel. Basically twice as fast for multi-thread performance. They're actually closer to the H versions of Intel. Intel really needs to step it up. Now if only those new Lenovos would actually ship.....
