Lenovo loves to make us think that we're getting a deal by raising up the price really high and putting it "on sale" for 40-75% off when it's really the original price. If you're lucky, you may get up to 25% off their "sale" prices.
Since when is $100 cheaper than Employee pricing (PerksAtWork) considered "normal pricing"?

This is $100 cheaper than my X1 laptop with exact same specs that I purchased via PerksAtWork employee pricing.

$1200 for an X1 with these specs is a slick deal.

Who would choose a crappy consumer-grade laptop over a top-of-the-line business laptop LMAO
Most consumers! Most don't know anything about whats good and what's not and base their purchase on looks and what's in stock at their local consumer-grade electronics store, BestBuy! HP is junk, yet lot's of consumers buy their crap and Best Buy loves to sell them becasue they know you will be back in a year or two for service or replacement.
The person that would get the LG Gram is buying based on the specs and maybe the large size, but probably doesn't know that LG doesn't have a reputation for making laptops and that in a couple years when the hinge breaks or the battery fails, that it will be difficult to find parts, just like Samsung laptops. And probably doesn't know the difference between consumer grade and business grade..

DDR3? Is that a typo?
You are missing LP in front and misses the point of such ram in a laptop robust environment. Lpddr is still a better choice over ddr4. This is also what makes a great stable laptop vs some fast spec laptop that breaks down much quicker and not as reliable.

Alright so I just got this laptop.. I was on the fence, thinking about getting the ASUS gaming laptop, but my PC is a beast and handles all my gaming, so I went with this.

I was also trying to get the x13, but stock issues had me reconsider. Either way my girl ended up getting the ASUS cause she needed a power house and I decided to do some comparisons since they are both the same price.

ASUS comes with AMD 8 core plus 2060 max q, makes it about 20% faster in computing tasks and indisputable when it comes to gaming. Although, the screen was dimmer, less saturated plus it weighed about a pound more.

This thing is about as light as a feather and has a significantly brighter screen. Keyboard also blows it away. I played some quick youtube videos in 4k and noticed a bit of stuttering to start, but smooth over all. All in all- I wish this came with a more powerful integrated graphics card, but even if it did. I am not sure it would have mattered. Happy with the purchase.

Do folks think this price could drop further closer to BlackFriday or CyberMonday? I'm interested in getting 2 and am wondering if I should wait another week or two

Not sure it will drop lower than this TBH. It was marked at 1700 and now at 1200. I purchased it the first time around and love it.

I think the key here is to wait until there are good CB deals to bring price down further. Thats what I did, was able to get it for 950ish.

who would choose a 1080p screen for a business laptop??? Screen real estate is king for office productivity, who wants to investigate hdmi out ports or integrated graphics cards to see if they can drive 4k monitors.....oy. 1.2k price point can get you a lot of computer.

Just bought a 5 year old Thinkpad X1 Carbon with 6th gen Core I7, 8GB, 1444p screen on Monday. These machines are SOLID, thin, and delightful to use. Love my old Lenovo dinosaur so far, but super jealous of anyone snapping up this new model. Great post OP. TU.

I've ordered T14s Ryzen 4750u 32GB RAM 128GB 400 nit. Final price ~1050.
But also waiting for their X1 Nano with 16:10 screen Smilie
Hope all premium laptops will be on sale after Apple started their M1 Macbooks.
