This is a deal right? Can't see it on the site anywhere....Basically for me it would be about $60 more than the Costco deal on X900h, sacrificing a bit of the warranty.

OP should have noted that this is only for those with an account, namely US vets and active military.

I am wondering if I should buy instead of the x900 from Costco that was $1030 with Tax, I read +/- of having either TV, but do not care about gaming, so 950 must be better....

950 has vastly superior image quality

950H has a slightly better image quality, mainly thanks to a higher peak brightness, which is still hampered by the filter place on the screen itself above the panel and the smooth gradation feature that further minimizes the minimal banding that exists on the 900H. However, gamers should note that the 950H also lacks the HDMI 2.1 functionality that exists on the 900H, and those who enjoy OTA TV should also note that this does not have the ATSC 3.0 tuner that exists on the 900H, but both are currently in an asterisk state, while Sony deals with rolling out these features via firmware updates to activate the hardware.

Yep. No HDMI 2.1 or 3.0 tuner for their high end LCD. It's like the TV department has no idea what the gaming department is doing.

Does anyone know how strict AAFES is about family sharing an account? For example I have a parent with a legitimate, eligible account with AAFES. I myself would not be eligible, but I can login to my parent's account and order stuff to my address. Does AAFES ban that sort of thing? Would it make a return complicated for a big ticket item like a TV if it was defective?

I'm pretty certain it would have to be purchased with the account holders credit card, and they can "gift" it to you. You cant just use your card to purchase using someone else's account.

Returns I believe also have to be handled by the purchaser.

For future ps5 gaming and having a TV in a non-dark room, I opted for the Samsung q90t instead (1620 with 3 years exchange coverage plan)

I bought this today. Yes, you have to military or veteran also it is Tax-free. This has better picture quality than the 900H, but slightly less contrast than the 900H because the 950H has a wide-angle view addition that lowers contrast ever so slightly compared to the 900H. The 950h doesn't have HDMI 2.1 as others stated, but this TV is more for movie watchers and the 900H is for gamers. The 900H viewing angle is very bad, but won't matter for a gamer sitting directly in front of it, or would matter less if you don't have a wide seating arrangement, or if you opt for the 85" that is wider. I got this over the Samsung 90T that is also on sale since this was cheaper, but also because it has Dolby Vision and no Samsung does. I've found this year this is no Flagship 4K LED TV with HDMI 2.1, eArc, Dolby Vision, and good Viewing Angles,. Its all a compromise give up something else it seems.
