Not a bad deal. I bought without the stand for $230 direct from solo. Really irritating how expensive the stupid stand is. $50 is ridiculous.

I wasn't a believer in Solo Stoves until my neighbor got one. I was amazed that I didn't smell like smoke after sitting around the patio for a few hours. After a few weeks, I bought a Yukon for myself! Just note, that these solo stoves do go through wood faster than your average backyard fire pit.

I got the Campfire model and have the same positive experience. With the pot set and tripod it makes a nice cooking solution. However I have to wonder about the practicality of the larger models. These stoves send the heat straight up but not radially so much. They are good for cooking but for warming your body I'm not sure they are the best choice.

Do they still provide good heat? Even if it's dropped into an existing 12" high fire ring?

My brother in law recently got one and said the same; he loves it but it goes through firewood like nobody's business

I've read multiple reviews on Amazon about rust and corrosion being a problem far sooner than people expected. Anyone have that experience?

I have had one sitting outside for years now and gave up using the cover after the first season. NO rust on the outside. Yes it looks rusted on the bottom of the interior but nothing rusting through or anything like that.

Smelling like smoke is the point. If you don't want the smoke, why not get a propane unit? It's much easier to operate; plus there is no clean up afterward.

Have the bonfire and absolutely love it, its portable enough i can carry it from our deck in the backyard to the driveway in the front when the kids are playing.I built a wood carrying platform with casters so it can be moved when its still too hot to the touch. Worth the money!
