Have been hunting for a deal on the Dewalt 20v XR Brad Nailer. Not nearly as good as the Murdoch's deal that went quick but including a 5a battery and free shipping for $249 makes this a decent deal
Biggest down side to the Ryobi when I was looking at cordless nailers is it weighs in at just under 10lbs with battery, the Dewalt is 6lbs. Reviews say the Ryobi jams more often when continuous shooting, and I couldn't find if it was Brushless which the Dewalt definitely is.
Once you go cordless, it is highly addictive and hard to go back to pulling a hose around again. I have this nailer (only bostitch which is essentially the DeWalt with a rebrand) and all of the rest of my nailers are the cordless Hitachis. I absolutely love the freedom you get with a cordless nailer and had zero regrets selling all of my old air tools. I've used the craftsman cordless nailers but they felt like cheap plastic toys in comparison to the build quality you get from this DeWalt. For the occasional DIYer wanting to just dip their toes in the water of cordless nailers, you may do well to get a cheaper craftsman or Ryobi. However, if you do a lot of projects with nailers or just prefer to invest in higher end tools, these are an amazing step up from traditional air tools and I promise you won't regret it
hows this compare to the ryobi? ryobi is 1/4 the price..
I own the Ryobi and can say that with daily use over the past two years I have had it jam on me twice. If you use quality nails and keep them clean and not oxidizing or rusting it is really an awesome nailer. I have used this Dewalt and it provided the same results as my Ryobi.
