How about the Ryzen 3600? It has one of the best cost/performance ratios, and it's $20 off at Microcenter, offered for $179. If you want to spend less, go for the Ryzen 3 3100, for little over $100.

will the Ryzen 3 3100 go on this board? i see it's a 4 core w/ 8 threads. will that beat the crap out of my 7 year old 6 core phenom 2.6 ghz? my main interest is photoshop and lightroom, that's why i want lots of ram capability.

That CPU is what I'm buying to go with this board, but only because the Ryzen 3 3300X is universally out of stock. Safe to assume it will destroy any 7-year-old CPU, but you can check yourself (if I haven't already guessed right):

looks like it does indeed beat the crap out of my phenom, and very thoroughly.

Running 4K monitors at 60 Hz. Most iGPUs can do that. However, that point is not really valid as the Zen 2 based APUs like Ryzen 5 4600G and Ryzen 7 4700G, are not available in USA for purchase separately and only available through OEM builds.

I think this would be front page material if it's the wifi edition of this mobo.

still a good deal, just not a front page deal.
