SOG SN1012-CP Sync II Traveler Knife $29.99

Traditionally, every multi-tool begins with pliers. SOG multi-tools are unmistakably original from the competition due to the uncontested strength of their plier heads, material selection, the use of innovative and patented technologies, and the drive to make the best multi-purpose tool available. SOG's innovation in multi-tools is not just pushing boundaries on the capabilities of a multi-tool, but versatility, portability, and efficiency are expanding them.
The functionality of a multi-tool is useless if you don't have it on hand when you need it. The Syncs are multi-tools designed to be easily worn with the detachable base as a belt buckle or simply clipped on a pack strap or boot. That way, anywhere you go, your multi-tool is there with you. While the tool can be conveniently detached from the base with one hand, it stays locked and secure to it under active movement when not needed. Sync I and II tools fit on 1.375" and 1.75" wide belts respectively. Both come with a selection of frequently used components that are available at a moment's notice to save the day anytime and anywhere.

Interesting that this is called the "Sync II Traveler Knife". Unless I'm missing something (entirely possible), I don't see a knife anywhere.

I'd be cautious, I ordered a S30V Kershaw Blur from the same sale this is part of, and I received the much cheaper 1670BW instead. Apparently they're using a vendor to sell and ship these items, so you may get what you ordered and you may not.

Upon complaining I was offered the ability to get a repair (?) for my item locally and a credit of $10, a refund, or a replacement if the vendor has any of the item left in stock (2-3 days to find that out.. apparently they can't just call and ask to resolve this in a timely manner, or ship a replacement from parent company Amazon to make it right.)

I've usually had good experiences with woot in the past, but I doubt I'll ever buy a knife from them again. An unsuspecting person wouldn't have even known they'd been swindled with an inferior, similar item.

The only good thing about this tool is that it folds up nice

Maybe it's made to be TSA compliant for carry on?

My guess, it's going to vary agent to agent. Though I believe all those tools are within guidelines, misinformed agents are abundant and it's not worth arguing most of the time. I'd ask for the supervisor and if they also say it's illegal, it's not worth pushing strictly from a time perspective IMO. But hey, to each their own and YMMV.

I have the Micra tool from the competitor. No way I'd pay this much for one. The fact the clamp onto something sounds great but... It is heavy enough you feel it swinging on your belt or whatever OR is got enough pointy things that you're going to stab yourself with it in your pocket as it is pretty wide.

Nope is my verdict.

This right here. I stopped using woot for this exact reason. They consistently sent me items a grade down from what the item was listed as. It's unfortunate to see that they are still doing this because this was 3-4 years ago...

Yeah, bad wording with "Knife" but this is the version without the knife. They got the "Traveler" version correct. I have the one with the knife from Home Depot. It's nice and sturdy but it is heavy, mainly due to the buckle base that the knife clips onto. The base is made of all metal. All in all, if you already have a buckle on your belt that is big (needs to be big to fit the buckle/mulit tool correctly), then it really is only the weight of the tool. As such, it is still heavy. It is a real niche item (hang it on a should strap, belt buckle replacement, or just anywhere where a slim inconspicuous multi tool isn't obvious.

Not bad, especial because this is a SOG product, I've never had anything bad from them.

Watched a video review. Looks very gimmicky. Yes it works but I wouldn't use it.
