I've owned this for about 1.5 years.

Pros:
- Compact, light, and easy to handle. Even though I have a better and bigger miter saw, I tend to use this more often. Once you realign it, it's pretty acceptable in most cases at least for me.
- It's wired but to me, it's a good thing. When you are looking for cheap DIY saws, you don't want to spend money on the wireless feature unless that's what you really want.
- LBNL, $100 is a very good price for what it is. They often mark it down to $100 so I would say it's close to a normal price. Still no doubt it's a very good price.

Cons:
- It may not work the best for something that requires precision. The alignment is pretty bad right out of the box, so you should readjust all the alignment screws. Once all the adjustment is made, it cuts pretty straight only when the sliding rail is locked.
When it's tilted, it wiggles a little bit.
When it's slid all the way out, it wiggles a bit.
When it's slid all the way out AND tilted, good luck with that.
- Laser guide is not bright enough so it's only good for indoor uses. There's no way to use it outdoor. I only use it for rough cuts.

Uses:
- This has been great for framing, outdoor furniture, garden beds, etc...
- For trims and moldings, it depends on your tolerance. It's been okay with me, and to be honest, I've been doing a much better job than the existing trims/moldings.
- For indoor furniture or cabinets, I won't recommend it. You may end up wasting some expensive woods that might be more than what you saved from cheap tools.

Overall, I still like it and I'll rely on it for most of my uses.
People, if you are still seeing $159, choose another store to shop from.

The closest store to me has it for $159, the next closest $99.

That's just the way it works.
I was looking at 10-12" sliding, 15A, double bevel, but was costing me at minimum double this. After thinking about it really hard, I came to the conclusion that I'm not a construction worker, and for any project requiring me to work with larger than 2"x8", I should probably hire a professional 😁

This or the Ryobi 18V battery powered one? That one is a non-slider. Just for little projects around the house, certainly not for jobs I get paid for.

Good deal for a basic trim saw. Wish it was the 24V one though, that is double bevel and will cross cut a 2x10 if you need it. They had that one for this price last year, hoping for a repeat.

The cut is good for me but a 7 1/4 won't cut through a 4x4 will it?

Will a higher-priced Lowe's store match the lower price or do you have to physically go to the lower-priced store?

Depends on the store. I have had managers offer to match price in another store before

I was eyeing this before seeing that 10" metabo at amazon for $89. The metabo just arrived today but returning it to local Kohl's and getting this one. I can live with smaller blade, and the sliding and laser feature of this one makes it a better choice for me.

You may want to get from harbor freight for 61971, 10" Sliding Compound Miter Saw. Add a 10" blade and Use 81153840 for 20% off which came up a good price compare to this 7.25".
This is cheaper than previous popular $139 Ryobi 15 Amp 10" Sliding Compound Miter Saw but both 10" don't have laser.
