How does this compare to the American Standard 1.25 HP for $99 at Costco? They go on sale for $79, and I've been waiting for it to go on sale.

You may consider a 1 hp Amazon warehouse unit. Purchased a couple and they were open box, but uninstalled. About 89.

If you want truely easy DIY replacement, get the same brand you have. Not only is the mount different, but the plumbing will probably need to be reconfigured, and I hate plumbing. I found a bigger version of my broken builder GE model on amz, and had it replaced in no time. It probably wont last 20 years, but last time I did a brand switch in a previous house, I was always dealing with plumbing issues. YMMV...

Camel cubed says this was $68.65 two months ago but $80 is still ok based on price history. Much better than HD prices on waste king.

I bought one before, It was recalled by manufacturers, then stopped working after half year. Manufacture refused to repair

Highly recommend Waste King- I've used their L-2600 in two rentals and my main never gave any issues and they're still beasts!

I got the 1/2 hp one about a year ago when I got my house, no experience with install. Was a breeze and has worked great so far

They constantly have https://www.costco.com/american-s...47195.html on sale for $75 at Costco I'm pretty sure? Would that be a much better deal 1.25 HP?

I have a larger waste king - don't recall if it's the 3/4 hp, but love it. I've had it for years with no problems. It's a long story, but the customer service was absolutely amazing when I was having installation problems on another model I had purchased. Highly recommend it.

Exactly this. Just got mine replaced for free with free shipping after my 1 HP died. They stand behind their products. The replacement was sent by Moen.
