Saw the previous Costco bundle that included the head strap at $430 isn't carried anymore; but this set still gets you essentially the fit pack for free since the 256gb unit retails for $399.

It depends on how you want to look at it.

It plays back up to 8K equirectangular video/images (useful for walking around inside images)

It games at a vertical resolution equivalent to 4K equirectangular, but that means you're really only seeing about 1900 px square at any given moment due to the field of view.

It has the equivalent angular resolution of 0.7K (yes, it really is like watching a DVD resolution on a 30" desktop monitor).
The Facebook Account requirement is the main reason why I am hesitant to buy this Oculus Quest 2 VR Headset. I hate FB.
I can answer that for myself and others - FB, well... sucks ass. Hard. A lot of people don't like how they've abused private information and let's not even get into their culpability in politics. It's just overall a toxic company with a toxic environment that some people don't want to support.

Besides that, it's super weird to have to tie in your social media account just to play games. And for some - like me - who don't even use facebook, it's not even an option.

This is a solid VR headset and a solid deal with Costco's backing. I got in on the $430 deal with the elite strap and haven't had any issues with it (and like it) for what its worth, but I know some people have.

I wasn't sure I'd use the fit pack, but I ended up using it for not only the wide face shield but the light blockers for the lenses. Those essentially double as lens protectors to a certain extent since you need to keep the lenses clean for the best viewing. To me a valuable add-on, but I'm sure some people don't or wouldn't use it.

Hope that helps!

I've not seen anything in the typical places (Best Buy, Walmart, Target, etc.)

My guess is since it just released like in October; the deals/discounts will be scarce kinda like Xbox Series X and PS5 this holiday season. Just a wager though.

IIRC fitpack is just some alternate facial interfaces (oval cushions) of varying thickness to get the headset to fit perfectly on your face comfortably.

Remember you can request a price adjustment if it has been within 30 days of purchase. $30 is $30 :-)

The $430 bundle was actually different than this one, so don't think you'd be able to PA

Does anyone have this that would recommend the Oculus Link or alternative adapter to hook up to computer that is of decent quality?

You can use the charging cable that comes with it - it's not as long as the link, but it will get the job done.
I'd highly recommend looking into Virtual Desktop - it took some tinkering and was kind of a pain, but I'm successfully using it to play Steam VR games completely untethered over WiFi. It's great and inexpensive.
