I had it to the highest one at first, then tried the low one in case I didn't understand how it worked. Both times it drained my battery. Now - I have the cutoff set as high as it goes, and I have a new battery in my car, and after about 2 weeks of no driving, it did kill the battery completely (like, car wouldn't even ding when the door was open).
I checked the wiring to make sure that I do have one hooked into ACC and the other in an always-on, and this is confirmed by the behavior of the camera when the car is on vs. off.
I have had nothing but good experiences with the two Viofo dash cams I have owned. The A119 V2 and A129 Pro 4K Duo I replaced it with have worked great.
You're one of the fortunate owners. Quality assurance issues don't affect everyone, they affect some people, and on garbage Chinese brands like Viofi=o they affect a lot of people. But not all.
See below for a description of the widely documented hardware and software failures on Viofo's V1 and V2 A119.

A119 v2, suffers from A119 v1. The A119 v1 had a common failure to record fault, which lead to a recall, which required an RMA. The optional GPS mount (the preferred way power the unit - because it was on top, more discreet) had spring loaded pins, that would sheer off, bend, or other wise fail to supply the dash cam with enough or a steady power supply. This was combined with the A119 v1's 2nd failure to record fault, the common fix was to plug the power cord into the dash cam it self, this worked for most, but some found the 2nd common fault, A119 v1's power plug on the dash cam it self was poorly made. This lead to the 2nd failure to record fault, and more RMAs.
A119 of any nature is Chinese made, and this is expected from them. However, 2 failure to record faults are pretty big deals, and should never have left the factory.
Slickdealers will read this and still spend $150 with ZERO warranty, returns, or support. Viofo is hoping new customers will think "surely they fixed it now " and they can keep burning bridges with new model numbers, and apparently you all will. Laughable.
Thanks, I was trying to find that. There are a lot of redflags so far making me pass on this deal. Website is down, the site is leaking user data, and this return policy. Wish they had this deal through amazon too.
after reading their policy i no longer want it through any reseller. if this was anker or rovpower i wouldn't think twice i know i pay 10% for product 90% for customer service and that 10% worth of product is actually good quality (generally speaking, compared to other low end brands), but this.... arghhh no way! not even if amazon has extended return. i just don't want to deal with this company.
How long will it last? A day if you use a 10000mah bank?
my garmin mini draws 1A (1000mA). Battery is rovpower 15,000mA. i'd say 12-15 hours. depending on other conditions like temperature. this viofo draws 3A i think, so you'd need a powerbank that can output at least 3+A. I'd get more than 3A capable battery. My garmin doesn't detect parking mode without hardwire kit so it just records as usual. this viofo may work the same way. only detects power mode when hardwired. i'm not sure.
It's "recommended" by blog spam sites that want your affiliate purchase. There's nothing good about Viofo at all. It's probably the cheapest generic Chinese dashcam junk you can buy.
Yi and Anker will have much better firmware support.
If you think that Viofo's own website providing OTHER CUSTOMERS DATA and crashing doesn't forecast software quality issues, then go buy it.
I nearly missed this deal because this thread title is way too specific. While the A129 Plus Duo is indeed on sale ... so are all of the Viofo products! 20% off on all items.
In for a Viofo A129 Pro Duo for $200. Thank you to the OP. I've been waiting for this deal since June. Back in June, Amazon and, I think, Blackboxmycar followed suit. As of now, only Viofo is offering this deal. No sales tax saves money, though.
I had no issues with the website as of 1:30 PM MST.
I'm guessing that WheelaDealer above works for Blackvue or Thinkware. ;-)

Did you get any accessories from Viofo?
To anyone waiting to pull the trigger, this is probably the best cam under $300. Does it have problems? Of course but those problems are worse with anker, aukey, yi. If you wanna know what issues each of these dash cams have, sort the Amazon reviews by 3 stars.

Maybe I have a faulty cutoff switch, I dunno.
