I think these speakers are fantastic. I think for this price these are very, very hard to beat.

This will save you about $300 off the lowest sale price of the speakers individually. A good deal in my book!

PS I wrote a review of these, but SD is killing the direct links to the forums I tried to link to.

How would the SVS ultra series compare to these?

I can find used SVS ultra towers for $1200, plus another $1000 for used center/surrounds.

I know that puts well over the costs of these but just wondering if the SVS ultras (or another company) are worth it over these.

I'm planning to spend up to $5000 for a 5.1 system (including sub + avr in that total)

Any reason why not targeting ATMOS setup? Something like 5.1.2?

I wonder how difficult it would be to sell those floor standing speakers locally in Seattle for around $950. I just need the bookshelf speakers and center.

Debating against this or Klipsch rp-8000, rp-504c and rp-400m rears, about the same cost.... I'll have a better HT experience but a worse musical experience? Klipsch looks nicer though.

I have the BR03s, and they're paired with an HSU VTF-2 MK5 sub, but I'm really curious to know how much better the BR08's are...

I have this exact setup in a 5.2.4 system. The two subs are the 15" monolith subwoofers. Fantastic sound and has been super clear/balanced for movies... Can't comment about music as it's primarily a media room setup. Wouldn't trade them as it truly sounds amazing when powered through a denon x4500h.

Adorama support is awful. Might be a good sale but you will regret your purchase if something goes wrong as I had.

Maybe it's the ones left over from their fire sale.
