Just use super glue or gorilla glue. You can't really be worried about your computer during an earthquake. What about your food, water, medical supplies. How are your first aid skills? It's a $15 stand for a flat screen monitor, so don't expect too much.

Try to use a wooden wine crate, in my case I use it also as a bookshelf

I made one of these with an oak stair tread and cheap Ikea legs, works great! And you can make it fit your area
