Probably not, speakers would be spaced too far and unangled. Buy the klipsch 2.1 PC setup from Costco, it was 99 bucks, still might be.

Is this a good deal? I have been looking to add a soundbar plus sub for the family room tv for around $150.

This is a 2.1ch soundbar, which means it doesn't have a center speaker. A center speaker is used heavily for dialog / voice in general, so I would wait for a 3.1ch one instead. Obviously, all things being equal, that will cost you more, but I think it's a worthy upgrade.

This is $179 at a few other places (plus tax). I would guess that it will get cheaper & probably would prefer a 3.1 as omnivor mentioned.

Yes, anything extra is good (surround and even atmos). But center speaker is not necessary. I have a 7.2 set-up and a 2.1 soundbar connected with the same TV (I do not use those at same time). Center speaker is necessary for 3.1 or 5.1 or 7.1 set-up, but you can set the receiver to play in 2.1 mode without the center speaker. I also have two Bose SoundLink Revolve Plus and one of this is enough to create impressive sound even everything is in one small portable box. The point is you can spend more money to get a better stuff, but it may not be really necessary. Also, speaker brand/model is more important than 2.1 or 3.1 etc.
