For anyone else curious... brushless is 1. More energy efficient
2. More responsive
3. Capable of packing more power, torque and speed
4. Easier to maintain
5. Smaller and lighter
6. Longer lasting
Wow! That took me under 30 seconds. It's okay, I understand you're slow. You must've been the one on a previous post that got downvoted 30 times for being a douche and telling someone to google something. Lucky for you, you got a little bit more fans today, congrats!
One more very important safety benefit - brushless saws can monitor the load on the motor in real-time, sense if the blade binds, and immediately cut power if it does. This can significantly reduce the risk of kick back vs. a brushed saw. If you aren't familiar with kick-back and circular saws, I recommend Googling that for a minute to learn why you should never put your hand behind the saw's cut line.
Not all brushless saws will have this feature, only the higher end ones. Check the feature list. My Makita brushless circ saw does. I presume this DeWalt does as well.
Is dewalt the Top of the line name for Circular saw and angle grinder?
Yea def the grinder and its close between Milwaukee and dewalt for rear handle saw BUT these are not those models. Flexvolt models would be the ones your looking for
I bought all of these this summer with the free 8.0 battery.
This is a much better deal, of course, and I don't have the planer yet...
I think the saw has the best resale value so I'll go that route.
Just a reminder you can usually get Lowe's gift cards for 10% off and sometimes higher.
Plus Lowe's is great with military discounts, I believe it's 10% even on sale items.
This is a good deal with the big batt AND the yellow fast charger...AND a free tool... But alas as of this morning, says out of stock. 59634 zip
As for the military discount. It is a good one BUT it does not work on sale items UNLESS they are structured a certain way. IF it is a sale price, no discount. IF an item is "regular" priced with a "free gift" or add on then it discount is good. So, you gotta look carefully on how a deal is structured. The Vet discount is NOT good on sale items. It used to be but not anymore... But Lowes structures their deals all the time so something might be "regular" priced (discount good) with something extra like batts. Then the discount is good.

Did you try any of the other power detect tools?
I did not, but thats just because I am in the market for a circular saw so otherwise the deal had no value for me personally.
