I do not find this chair all that comfortable.

I just bought this when it was on sale the other week. I am probably going to return it soon.

To preface: I'm 6' 1" and skinny.
My biggest complaint is the back. It's either locked in a very upright position, or unlocked and can be tilted back to like 45 degrees. You can't relax leaning back at a slight angle.
Maybe it would work better in an office setting, but I like to lean back and be lazy at home. I am going to get another "manager's style" chair where the back is already at a slight angle.

Also, I wouldn't call the chair very wide, as it seems like everyone else in these comments are. If I were any bigger, I would be hitting the plastic sides of the chair. I prefer my faux leather chair where the bottom goes all the way across.

I'm 6'2 and can easily relax in this chair

you need to adjust the tilt tension knob so that it only goes as far back as you prefer.

i don't even use the tilt lock.

the upright-ness is good for posture

Got both the Dexley and Hyken,.I'm 5'8 165lbs. I love everything about the Dexley except that it feels like I'm leaning back instead of sitting up so I have to keep using my back pillow on and off. Hynek feels more straight up and also has a locked in recline, the head rest is uncomfortable compared to the Dexley so I may try it without. I'm leaning to returning both and finding something better.
They were both really comfortable to sit in however I could get a proper posture fit while working
I really wanted to like them, build quality is really good especially for the price however I feel like I'm not fully comfortable.

I get mine today (6'2 - 195lbs) I'm looking for something to force better posture. It's interesting that some say it's too ridgid, yet others feel the opposite about it.

Hoping I am not disappointed.

I do have a lot of neck and back issues and go to the chiropractor so I'd say I'm a pretty picky user.
Let me know how it goes for you

Just put it together.

I can see what you mean... even when locked upright, there is a bit of tilt-ablity to the chair... But I feel like there is a decent amount of tension to keep me up straight.

I'm happy coming from a hard bar stool.

my booty was hurting for the first couple of days of using this chair... it has since improved and the tail pain is not happening anymore... sometimes though it feels it puts a lot of pressure into my anus... I hope we don't get hemorrhoids from using this chair... only time will tell...

Went in on this deal and just got the chair delivered and set up today.

I am amazingly NOT impressed. The tilt lock should be called "tilt a little then stop" really uncomfortable. My ass is pinched by the sag in the mesh seat and the plastic rim. The headrest is set too far back so that I can't relax my neck while typing. The back/lumbar support is supportive but in a way that's extremely uncomfortable. I may be sending this back or selling on FB.

This is one of those SDs where I wonder what crack the people giving rave reviews are smoking.

My Dexley just arrived today, hoping it will be an improvement over the Hyken which is too small for me.

Taking the Hyken apart while putting the Dexley together just for comparison sake and I've been measuring parts for comparison. The Hyken and Dexley seat bolts are spaced identically, but the bolt sizes themselves are different. But it's not possible to swap the seat pans across bases even if you had the corresponding bolts because of the shape of the Dexley bottom (long plastic lip) and the Hyken base is about 1/8" longer in the front so they bolts can't pass through the holes.
Bummer.

After a few hours use today... I can see where "the pinch" could be an issue.

I agree on the headrest... Not impressed

I like the lumbar after adjustment. I also find sitting far back into the chair (butt really far back) - the lumbar hits me just right to force some posture... Which is what I was after.

Remember - this has a decent return policy per other talk on this thread.

Imo - @ the sale price, it's worth a try. Or - head into a store to test it. The reports of varying boxes is concerning and something to note.

Are there different versions causing the mixed feelings/reviews on this chair?

My box was labeled "Union and Scale". It sounds like the non Union and Scale box not as desirable? (per talk above from someone that got one of each)

I see the same... $250 now. Seems to be dead.

This chair seems to go on sale often, I am sure it will be back on sale again soon.

Just a warning - lots of mixed feelings in this chair.

I'm 6'5" and returning it. Not high enough. Not all that comfortable either for me. Kinda same like an Amazon basics one I've had for a while.

I am 5'8" and this chair is NOT COMFORTABLE at all. I thought I'd spend a little more for a decent chair but it's worse than a fold up chair.

Will give it a couple more days and see if my body adjust to the chair but doubt it.

My lower back feels like it falls into a crack while seating on the chair.

gonna be making my first warranty claim.

the cylinder lift in this shit is making a nasty loud popping noise by simply shifting my ass in the seat, or even pushing down with my hand at the right angle.
