If you have enough budget, spend another $40 and get a V8 at Target.
If you are looking for a midrange cordless vacuum with limited budget, go to Walmart and get a Shark rocket pro for $140.
Both products mentioned above are better options over dyson V7

What target one? From two weeks ago? Since that's not an option is this one so bad? Seems like a good deal. Anyone out there with v7 chime in?

Target has V8 for $229 and V10 for $349 starting Nov 22.
V8 is so much better than V7, longer battery life, better suction.
There are comparison videos on YouTube. Better take a look before you make a decision.

Anyone can compare this vac to the $100 ones from Amazon?

i owned 2 "Dylon" Roomie Tec knock offs. thought i save some money, but not a good idea on these. i have the dyson v6 from 4 years ago and works great, currently on a generic battery after the original died. the 2 "dylon" roomies are junk. after 3 months use, these lose suction. the roller electronics keep getting stuff stuck and i would have to open up the roller components to clear the tiny debris and power hair, otherwise the roller won't spin and the led won't light up. the dyson v6 i only had to do it once in the 4 years. put in extra money and save yourself from headaches.

My only concern is if it is refurbished or not. Dyson sells lot of refurb stuffs via Dyson ebay store.

I was also in between the V7 but we went with the V8 from Target for $229 and have been VERY happy with it. Works really well. We had a few generic knockoffs that the battery just dies and then you can't get replacements because model was discontinued.

I was looking for a soft roller head because I have lots of hardwood floors. Can you buy that separately since there isn't a deal on Absolutes (I think this is the only model that has the attachment standard)?

I bought one of these as a refurb from the dyson eBay store 2 years ago. The battery just started losing a charge recently and would only stay on about 5 mins on max suction (previously ~40 mins). Just received a replacement battery from Amazon today for $32 which was easy to replace. So far so good. I love the vacuum and would have bought another if it wasn't so easy to fix.
