"Consumer Reports does not currently recommend any cordless stick vacuums because of the generally high incidence of problems reported by our members. The problems can include batteries that diminish in power over time or die completely. Such problems are particularly acute by the fifth year of ownership."
Please save your money and the planet by not buying the over-priced battery-powered crap!
Is there really no power outlet within 25 feet of the area you want to vacuum? A plug-in $40 vac from walmart will clean circles around this battery-powered crap and last many years longer!

Dyson = way cool way overpriced plastic junk
You will not be able to understand the difference (on carpeted area) unless you use Dyson vacuum. For non-carpet floor, Dyson and $25 vacuum may be the same or not much difference.
Well I can tell you the V8 Motörhead for $229 from Target is exclusive to them. I'm not sure when was it manufactured but we used to have a DC44 years ago before and the suction on the V8 is much much better.

I'll put my plug-in shark up against any cordless vac unless it is diesel powered!
Battery-powered vacs are a joke but Dyson prices are truly laughable!
We gotta stop buying cool expensive useless crap from stylish smooth talking con men!
I will not get another Dyson. I should have read up on the battery issues before purchasing my current one. In about a year, the battery went to lasting approx three minutes on the V6. Dyson charges around $100 for a replacement battery if you are out of warranty.

Do not buy a Dyson refurb unit. New ones should be good unless you get a bad one (which could be possible for tech items). I am using my V6 for more than 5 years without any problem.

No point of arguing. Yes, Dyson prices are too high. That's why I only buy when they go on sale! The point is Dyson can keep the prices high because there is a demand for it (it is not a decorative item that people spend money on it....looks good factor) !!!
i am torn b/w target v8 and costco v11 too. almost double the price. But is the battery life twice as good? suncation power twice as good? I really do not want batter problem..

It's about convenience. I have 2 Dyson V7s and they're awesome.

I don't think it's worth it in my opinion. That said, we also have a Roborock S5 to handle our main vacuuming needs so the dyson is for spot work if there's a need. Been very happy with the V8.
If you have enough budget, spend another $40 and get a V8 at Target.
If you are looking for a midrange cordless vacuum with limited budget, go to Walmart and get a Shark rocket pro for $140.
Both products mentioned above are better options over dyson V7
