How do the pros compare to the normal exp ones on Amazon? Worth the extra $100ml?
Its almost 300 more compared to sport exp after shipping. So youre paying 2x. Not really worth it. weights are weights.

The advantages of PROs are that they are silent and can handle better being dropped. They are more flexible and if the bars are bent they are replaceble. Another plus is that they hold their value in case you resell years down the road.

It's likely not going to work as they are sized differently.

Was able to snag a 5-90 set. $136 for shipping to Charlotte, NC. Yikes.

Oof $981 to Los Angeles.

[edit] ...and got them. Cheap compared to a gym membership I guess.

Apparently, the warranty is non-transferrable so if you buy these used you're on your own.

I got order of 1090 Bowflex coming, about same price with taxes and shipping as this kit with 2 expansions. Is this unit overall better?

I think these are better, i prefer powerblock over bowflex becaue the length of the dumbells remain the same even with smaller weights with BF. With powerblock, the lower weights like 10 -20 lbs are much smaller, and so doesnt feel awkward. I am not so sure about this, but I have also heard parts of bowflex made of plastic break, and the weight adjustment mechanism tends to break also. PB is mostly all metal plates that stack together. I have the regular PB EXP version and they are noisy because of the plates hitting each other. THese Pro ones have coating that removes the sound. So i would say these are the best you can buy, if you can afford to spend that kind of money. Shipping kills it in my opinion. 135 to cali

Very hard to find stage 2 for regular powerblock EXP. Have been looking for one for a few days now. no luck. not on offerup, ebay , amazon or PB. Stage 3 is available on amazon and ebay but is useless without stage 2.

Can I ask where you bought it from?

I only need one of these dumbbells for things like tricep extensions and other stuff where the powerblocks are too bulky to do with.

Cant find the 1090's anywhere.

Buying direct from PowerBlock is a rip off. They overcharge you for shipping and taxes. If you can find them from one of their authorized dealers, you'd get a better overall price. Price from PowerBlock for a Pro EXP stage 1 set is $439 + almost $120 shipping + a set statewide tax (don't know how they come up with it, but it's a lot higher than my local sales tax). Scheels had it the same time last month PowerBlock restocked for only $399 + flat $49 shipping + my local sales tax.

Therein lies the issue. Weights are impossible to find in stores right now because of COVID, and who knows how much longer the supply issues will persist.

Very tempted to buy these. I've had my eye on the Ironmasters, but they have been out of stock for months (they are going through monthly raffles since supply is so limited). Main issue is that 90 lbs is on the lighter side for certain exercises (flat bench, bent-over rows, Romanian DLs, etc.), and I don't see an option for a larger attachment - seems to only be available on the commercial DBs?

Perhaps it's worth investing in a power rack + BB + plates for the heavier lifts. Anyone have any suggestions for those?

Edit: Acted too slowly - stage 3's are sold out again Angry
