I've looking for a economical planer and have been watching this one. Home Depot price matched plus 10% bringing total to $222.04 plus tax and free shipping.

Which one? I've been eyeing their jointers recently.
I got the 6559 for $235 directly from them. It's about $245 at Lowe's now. I was able to square up well and it has no problem cutting 1/32" of hard cherry or oak. I should be able to do 3' boards easy and maybe up to 4' boards with some luck.
I have the Dewalt 735x but did not have room for a big jointer now. So knowing I will upgrade in ten years or so I did not want to put out a lot of money for one. The Grizzly bench top jointers are great but at $400+ plus for some of them it did not make sense to pay that much for a bench top. Plus the Wen look exactly like all the other jointers, Porter Cable, etc.
For getting into the wood working hobby I think it is a great starting point.
Bummer. I asked HD to price match as well (by chat) and was told that since Wen will ship to other countries, then HD would not price match it. Those other countries you ask? Canada.

I didn't ask for it but they gave it to me.
From HD website:
"Price Match and Beat by 10% for Retail Stores:
If you find a current lower price on an identical, in-stock item from a local retailer's store or website, we will match the price and beat it by 10%. Prices for online items will be matched to localized online prices if available."

For me HD said, it's the manufacturer and they are able to offer wholesale prices and we can't match it. Lowes said they don't match "on sale" prices!

You must be Canadian, eh?
Because what you quoted is from the Canadian Home Depot[homedepot.ca] website. They haven't offered the price match plus 10% in the US for quite some time.
