Where did you find that Walmart phones are unlocked? I need to be fully sure before I locked into AT&T. Thanks in advance.
There's no guarantee that you'd get unlocked but almost everyone who bought ATT phones from Walmart online this month has got an unlocked device including me

I already chatted and just hung up the phone with another ATT rep after hours talking.
No deal for you for if you don't have unlimited plan. They're for sure unable to waive activate fee. On the way to the Apple store with hope face to face meeting persuades manager?

Curious too about Target and BB deals. I too want the best deal without having to go unlimited.
Just an FYI - Target doesn't sell Verizon post-paid anymore.

Same looking for deal without unlimited plan. For unlimited plan I need to increase my monthly bill by $30-$40 which is equivalent to 2 phones. https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima...s/emot-LOL.gif
What are you paying per month now?

I've spent some time analyzing the numbers. It's basically a wash either way.

I have a 5GB single line plan with VZW at $55 per month

If you save $300 on the phone, but it's in bill credits over 24 months AND you have to get unlimited AND you go with the lowest unlimited plan, you are literally costing yourself $60 over the course of the 24 months AND are locked in for 24 months to VZW.

Here's the math/logic for me:

Buy phone outright at Reg Price $849 (iphone 12 128gb)
Current plan $55 per month
At end of 24 months, I'll have paid $1,320 in service
Total including phone: $2,169

Buy phone for $300 discount (in bill credits over 24 months) so you pay $549
New unlim plan $70 per month
At end of 24 months, I'll have paid $1,680 in service
Total including phone: $2,229

See. It's basically a wash either way.

By getting the $300 "savings" in bill credits, I'm now locked in to Verizon for 2 years...but I do have truly unlimited data for only $60 more over those 2 years

For how long are AT&T's phones locked, if paid in full?
I bought a iPhone 12 pro max from Walmart, they send out the unlocked phone model and a SIM card separately. So my phone is unlocked and not tied like if they sent an att specific phone that has the sim already in it.

Also to make the deal a little better they only tax on the discounted price.

You can call att and have the upgrade fee credited.

200 instant off with no trade in on all range of 12 lineup is the best one I found so far. Why the downvote?
Free with trade-in is a much better price. Lol

Just called ATT retention department (att loyalty) and was able to get $300 off of iPhone 12 pro. They were also able to waive the upgrade fee and priority shipping.
What are the terms of the $300 off iPhone pro?

Is that $300 in bill credits or is it $300 off the phone itself?

I am not the Verizon account holder for my line. Can I finance under my name instead of the account holder?

I switched to xfinity mobile today and it's an incredible deal. If you can get by on 3gb data it's $30/month. They don't have all the crazy taxes and fees that Verizon has. Of course you have to have xfinity internet. Or 1 line unlimited is $45.

I have 3 lines on 10 GB shared with the pro max and $15 insurance and total bill with taxes is $112. $100 cheaper a month than the unlimited plans you are forced into on Verizon.

Also Verizon told me there is a $10/month per line charge for any phones with 5G

Total off would be $410 (instant $200 + $210 trade-in) at Walmart. Best Buy's is $440 (for Verizon).

For carrier phones, it seems like it. (not that it's a change though...)

Were you expecting a carrier-branded iPhone box? I got an iPhone 12 from Best Buy for Verizon and there is no carrier branding on the box. I thought I read somewhere that iPhones are now locked to the carrier of the first SIM used, depending on that carrier's policy. If you go to Settings > General > About and swipe down to Carrier Lock, does it say "No SIM restrictions"?
