Just bought some a few minutes ago after months of trying to get a set for not more than the retail price. I had signed up through the Bowflex site to be alerted when they came back in stock, but I haven't seen any kind of notification from them, so thanks Slickdeals for the deal alert.

The plastic parts which hold the weights are delicate and tend to break over the time and may cause injury.
Bowflex has no plan to make it a better product by doing something like what the person in the video does.
He developed it and manufacturing it for all the bowflex owners to make the product work for lifetime.
This is really good info to know. Thanks for sharing!

I just don't even understand why they would be accepting B2C orders with that much lead time. Imagine how long their B2B businesses are waiting for fulfillment. The businesses will wait, and patiently, without caring. The customers will just grow weary, angry, and frustrated. They obviously don't have them in the warehouse and are waiting on manufacturing from China.

I had actually seen a set of SelectTechs in my local Dick's a few months ago and was tempted to get them until I read about the plastic deterioration issues. I ended up getting a pair of Powerblock Personal Trainers about a month later. It seems almost negligent that they'd design a product that could, through simple wear and tear rather than abuse, degrade to the point that they could potentially drop a plate on some critical body part.

I bought these from Bowflex also, much better than waiting for retail, but there's 3 month shipping. I just checked and mine haven't shipped yet, I think Bowflex is selling them without having them in stock and just backordering the 552s.

Never got mine to degrade, however I owned a set for over 5 years and the rubber on the handles started to get sticky. That was enough for me to sell them.

Nice to see these and the powerblocks finally coming back in stock. Hopefully the scalpers get stuck with theirs.

Sadly all of the heavier stuff and accessories are still OOS. 1090's out of stock, powerblock expansion sets, ez bar/barbell attachments, etc still not available.

I always feel bad for the delivery carrier person when ordering something like this... but not bad enough to not order it. Reminds me to leave a tip for my mail people this holiday.
