I just bought the husky 270 piece and the quality seems kind of crappy and a little poor (including the box). Doesn't stand out from my other home tools. I don't do anything fancy on my car and I am a new homeowner, but is this kobalt set better for me because there appears to be more screwdrivers? I don't know what I would use ratchet and sockets for.
I was hoping the Husky set came with a better toolbox, I guess they are both crappy.

LoL, You be the judge.
Lowes (Kobalt) 232 pieces
117 sockets, 3 90-tooth ratchets, 4 extensions, 30 wrenches and 78 accessories.

Home Depot (Husky) 270 pieces
148 sockets, 3 72-tooth ratchets, 4 extensions, 14 wrenches and 101 accessories.

Craftsman
84 sockets, 3 72-tooth ratchets, 8 extensions, 8 wrenches and ?? other tools.
Note that only 10 of the wrenches in this set are full-sized. There's a bag of 20 tiny "ignition wrenches" that are mostly filler IMO. I don't know about the HD set.

What kills me with all these sets is all the 12 point sockets Frown Who uses a 1/2 in drive with a 12 point?
You should get this set; it's all 6-point:

I prefer Lowe's, especially since they mark metric with a blue line (circling the socket), and imperial in red. That one little thing made my mind up when I bought mine years ago!
We you change my timing belt for $50 please.

What's better this one or the one at home depot? Same price
This one. Kobalt replaces a socket even if you lose it. Never be with out a 10mm socket again

not sure which is better but same price for craftsman brand, didn't go down and see which had less bits and more sockets:

This one has less useless screwdriver heads.

Someone removing a bolt from a u-joint. It's a mechanics set. Go to the dollar store and buy a cheap set if these don't work for you.

I sure do miss the Lowe's coupon generator thingy.

I was so accustomed to buying nearly everything from Lowe's w/a $10 off $25 coupon (among other % off & $ off coupons) for at least a year that now, it almost feels *overpriced*. LOL

Thanks to the OP for posting. Reps.

Ever change a u-joint? Many heavy applications require twelve point sockets. This set is appealing because it's box fits easily under sets, bunks, and side mounted tool boxes.

Edit: many engine bolts in newer equipment also require twelve point sockets.

Is the 282 craftsman at $160 a better deal?

Got this last year. Tools are great, the box is TERRIBLE. The drawers never go in right.

So, which are 6 point and 12 point? Specs don't mention that.
