Question about

26 10 November 19, 2020 at 01:25 PM
I'm eyeing the following deal:

https://slickdeals.net/f/14483375-acer-34-curved-144hz-uwqhd-1ms-vrb-freesync-premium-pro-gaming-monitor-349-99-starting-november-30th?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1

I've never owned an ultra-wide monitor before and had a few questions. Confused

I know on Windows I could "snap" a window on the right and left. Does that mean if I snapped a game on one side (e.g. Leauge of Legends) and another program on the other (e.g. email) I could work/play in both windows simultaneously? I currently have two a monitor setup and when I'm in game, if I click on the monitor not running League, it minimizes the game. Or I have to alt-tab out entirely.

If i choose just to use the entire screen to play a game, does it distort the image or is my screen resized and centered for optimal viewing?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Dan

bulb save money by checking your insurance every 2 years (and not every 20) Thanks Liberty Mutual for reminding me to shop. The $842 increase this year sums it up. Across the board increase for Ohio....whatever

It's all varied. If your game supports running "windowed" you can definitely do that. If your game runs full screen it may support ultrawide natively (which is awesome btw) or you might be able to edit some configuration file to allow support. If you can't, the monitor should display a normal 16:9 resolution with black bars on the sides -- at least, that's how my LG does it. It's not stretched all the way across, which would be awful.

An ultrawide monitor is the best thing I've bought during the pandemic. So awesome for doing work in two windows.
