Sorry, maybe I'm misunderstanding. Your counter deal is more expensive, has a shorter return window and is more difficult to return since it requires an RMA to be approved. What about Newegg is better here?

He isn't saying Newegg is better. He's saying $5 off isn't a deal and (likely implying) that it isn't "slick." But if it's the product you need at the time you need it, it's certainly better than nothing.
