Depends which one you are comparing, Netgear rbk50 has a 4x4 5Ghz dedicated stream so would be superior. The rbk20/40 has 2 2x2 5 Ghz streams one dedicated for backhaul, so similar. But the orbis are generally costlier
I wouldn't buy a Google Nest unless it was from a seller with a stellar return policy like Costco.
These things are NOTORIOUS for dropping wifi connection repeatedly. The google forums are littered with complaints[google.com].
Returned mine after burning hours with Google's top tech support. A high percentage of these units are buggy. It's a lottery. Good luck.
Buy the 3 pack! The add on "Nest WiFi Point" NEVER goes on sale. It's $150 alone, and if you ever want to upgrade you're going to have to pay full price for the addition.
I got the 2 pack on sale for $200 and now I need another point, so I'm out $350 which is the full price of the 3 pack.
Wow $30 cheaper than the frontpage deal I bought 3 days ago. Amazing deal. I just set mine up today and am very satisfied with it. Definitely get the 3-pack routers so you can do Mesh Backhaul.
3 pack router is wayyy better than 1 router + 2 points.
Yes it's wifi 5 instead of wifi 6 but would need to pay double the cost in order to get mesh wifi 6. Also unless you have summer 2020 devices, your wireless hardware isn't wireless compatible anyway.
FYI, the Nest Router is AC2200, but the Nest Points are only AC1200.
Love the Google Assistant bonus, but the speed wasn't there for me. Even with a Great Mesh connection, the speed would only be around 100-ish at the Points. (270-ish at the Router). Also, FWIW there's no ethernet ports in any of the Points if that's important to you at all.
FYI, I think the deals are referring to all Nest 2 Wifi Routers not the points. Same deal I got about 4 months ago. I got 2 -2 packs of the routers....

How is 3 router pack better? Can you please share? Trying to buy router and point, but don't know why I would need three routers?
2 routers instead of 1 router and 1 access point is well worth the extra $30. This is a good deal.
Routers are AC2200 with 4x4 MU-MIMO and Ethernet ports while the access point is AC1200 with 2x2 and no other ports.
Checking their website, it's not clear if these are two routers or one router and one point. My guess is it's the later. Haven't seen anything like a two router pack anywhere. Beware and do your research before buying.

Have you read any of the posts in this thread? They are routers only.

These are all multiple router packs. Amazon even has the 2 pack, best it's been there is $239. Definitely not the latter. I purchased the 3 router pack last time through about a week and a half ago. Legit.
Any single Nest Wifi router deals? I think with the 4x4 5 Ghz, 1 router will suffice for my needs. I know the chipset is QCOM, which are usually better than Mediatek or Broadcom, but afraid the Nest firmware may be flaky seeing a lot of complaints.
