R-SIM is a SIM card add-on that looks like a really thin SIM card that mounts on top of your nano sim (or below depending on the model) that allows you to bypass the sim lock by hard coding a new ICCID that is unlocked.

You can buy the R-SIMs off ebay/amazon and they are usually $10 give or take.

It works reasonably well and the wiki talks about how to operate it, the only challenge is sometimes iOS updates break it and sometimes you need a new ICCID but for the most part it's great and allows you to use a SIM locked phone with any provider. and in this case you dont have to wait 180 days with Cricket to get an unlock code.

Keep in mind it is unlike the factory unlocking process which is permanent. Here you are dependent always on the R-SIM.

back in the day it also went by the name Gevey SIM.

As long as you have an old Sprint SIM card laying around (they're reusable)... and an IMEI from a phone that's compatible with Sprint's network, you can sign up for the $5 service (data only) or if you want to play it safe... $6 service (500mb data, 100 min). Pay for service, enter in IMEI and SIM card info, activate. You'll have instant access to a new phone number, pin to access port out info.

I posted this question:

How do you use a Phobio Apple Virtual Gift Card?

Somehow I cannot find it anymore. Is there a problem with this post?

I placed an order earlier this evening for just one iPhone SE. Checked the port status on Cricket's website and looks like everything is okay. Now just waiting for the phone to ship (hopefully tomorrow).

But now I'm wondering if I can place a second order for another iPhone since the limit is 2? Or did I mess up by not ordering both at the same time?

And if I can indeed order a second phone, would I still be able to take advantage of the multi-line discount and only pay $30 for the service on the second order?

Thanks for any help or advice.

I got the deal in November, so I'm already in my second month. When I go to Crickets website and click on unlock. It says I need 179 days more. It should have 30+ days subtracted from that. I dropped my account to the $30 plan on day one as well. Anyone else not seeing the days left to unlock not being updated as well?
A lot of people had this. The ones that activated on 11/25/20.
just a suggestion, maybe you can try to register the sim in a different device, and back on to the iphone, to see if the clock starts working.

So the two cricket threads pretend to let you post but your post doesn't get posted? Did Cricket get mad and complain to Slickdeals? Can a mod explain this to me please?
It's because of people trying to sell their port in numbers

I had the same problem a month ago but I never contacted customer service since I only cared about the phone and did not want to attract attention. have you heard back from them yet?
Recap and Update to my cricket porting saga:

I bought a Boost number that turned out to only be good for 7 days (which I wasn't told up front <.<), but since my shipment took longer than expected when I finally tried to activate the phone it was unable to be activated at cricket because the port in information for "my" old Boost account was invalid.

The first person at cricket told me to reach out to the previous carrier,
I then decided to reach out to the seller and found out that it was only good for 7 days,
I then decided to reach out to cricket again and outline that my porting information was originally ok and that cricket had acknowledged it since cricket finally sent out my iPhone but that since it took longer to get my package then expected by the time that I tried to activate the phone and the account (because I didn't click it in the cricket shipment confirmation email to activate it) it was showing that the old account information was invalid at cricket even though it was the accurate account information for my "old" account.

It took some explaining again and again but the lady in the end offered to make a new account for me with a new cricket number. I made sure that the $60 was credited to the account still, but when I tried to get some form of compensation she initially made it seem that she was magnanimously giving me a $20 credit without me even asking her. I was all thankful to her and gushing etc, but it turned out to not actually be true, I learned out later on in the conversation.

The $20 that was being "credited" to me I guess was because the old Boost account was telling cricket that they (cricket) would need to pay $20 to activate the old account to actually get the account current enough to port out that information.
In the end, she didn't opt for that but the "new" account that she made up would have cost me $15 from cricket but she didn't charge me (or let me know about this fee or credit initially) because she knew that it wasn't my fault or their (cricket) fault either.
So I went to all that extra effort just to get the account activated and I didn't even get any compensation for my troubles <.<

anyway, I hope that this update/information might be helpful to others.

There was some glitch for orders from November 25th and people had to reach out to cricket customer service about it. I don't know all of the details though. They might have been offering an amount of credit on the effected customers' accounts, but I'm not sure.

I used to be that "trading" for $5 value or less was tolerated in most threads. Over $5 is against the rules, paypal is against the rules. Most people use $5 Amazon GC. As long as it's $5 or less it should be okay

There is also the official SD trading thread, also $5 value or less. I believe you can trade phone numbers for $5 Amazon gift card there, it should be within the rules unless the rules have changed

If you post there be sure to read the rules in the first thread.

Referrals are not allowed anywhere on SD under any circumstances.

After receiving the trade-in device, how long does it take for Amazon to confirm the final value?
It was a matter of a few hours for me. When I woke up today I tracked the package and it said it was delivered. I opened my email and they had already given me credit. I opened Amazon and the $205.50 was credited to my account with a gift card.
Glad I went this way instead of one of the other places.

Same issue, stuck at 179 days. Activated on Nov. 25. Did you contact Cricket? I haven't done it yet.
I tried the online chat, and they weren't helpful. Kept saying that I only used 1 day of service and the phone needs to be used for it to tick down. I kept telling them I use the phone all the time and their system is incorrect. They just became a broken record. So I guess I'll have to call in.

Are you having to pay for multiple months of service or is your actual cricket service acting like you're still only on day 01?

Also when you reach out again you might want to mention that you know that others who started their cricket service on November 25th also had trouble because there was some glitch in the cricket system. (Depending on how clueless they act you might mention that they actually google something like "November 25 2020 cricket system glitch".)

If the level of customer service that you are talking to can't/won't help you you should ask to talk to a supervisor and if they can't/won't help you you might wish to keep trying to go up the chain until you get to someone that can/will actually help you, IMO.

That doesn't sound very promising, looks like it'll be a hassle to get this resolved. I'll just swap that stuck phone with another one that I ordered about two weeks later. Will lose about 20 days for unlock purposes, but that's ok with me. Will send this stupid one for Amazon trade in.

1. Once we unlock with RSIM then will it work the international SIM (Outside of US)
2. I used 2 rat10 accounts to place order, is it okay to use same PayPal account or address to get the CB.
