Upcoming deal for Nov 22nd to Nov 28. This is the cheapest 55" not-out-of-stock-yet deal that I have seen. (Sorry I can't edit the title to get the &quot changed. Should be 55")

Deal can be found buried on page 48 of the upcoming ad on the Target website.

Ordered one for pickup....But still on the fence about picking it up. One thing I can not find in the specs - Does this have Ethernet port for LAN connection ?
I looked at the images in the link and it does have Ethernet

Technology wise, TVs have to be one of the coolest stories. Could you imagine telling people just ~10 years ago that everyone would soon be able to buy 55 inch 4k smart TVs for $200? I love it. It was such a luxury item to get a flat screen just recently, forget the 4k thing. Now most households can have a gigantic 4k TV for cheap, it's amazing.

I also love seeing "smart" things. I'm just beginning to use smart-outlets, things like Ring doorbells are awesome, Wyze cams are $20 for a 1080p night vision, 2 way audio, motion sensing camera with free recording. It's just mind blowing. Oh, and smart speakers? I just bought speakers that I can cast music to from my phone with just a few seconds of clicking 2 buttons. Yeah, some parts of the future are amazing.
I use to be "the guy" when I had a 65" 12 years ago.... Now I'm just a chump again.... But still have the 150 inch projector not many have at least....

some people think Hisense is better

LED Full Array
IMO, the TCL is better as a TV, contrasts/textures, etc., but the Hisense is better as a monitor..... brighter, less input lag and better response time as well..... That's why I'm in for 1.

I guarantee you it's not full array and that's a typo. I've seen that exact same mistake on several other Target TV product pages. This model is most likely direct lit, though it could possibly be edge lit. The reason I suspect it's direct lit is because those are the models Target always tends to misquote as full array.
Nope, it is a full array and why it qualified for Dolby Vision..... However, it doesn't have the local dimming hardware/software to make it an 8 series...... So if you're buying it for sports, this is better.... If you're buying it for movies, go with the TCL 4 Series.

If it's a TV, then it has a tuner. No question. Otherwise it's a monitor or a "display".

Hisense has Roku built in
I'd rather have the bluetooth and the through walls voice remote that comes with the Android..... If I were using it as a TV/music player.

Yes, it has a tuner.... Everything you could expect but bluetooth and voice but these can be added with ROKU remotes, Alexa or other gadgets should you want these features.

Not necesarily. With a lot of people streaming nowadays, cable boxes, Tivo's, etc., Some do cut corners..... and with BF only models, I wouldn't put anything past them.... But yes, this one does have a tuner.

Couldn't order online but I got one in store this morning in NJ. They had to forklift the pallet onto the floor for me and another customer. We got the first two and there were 3 left I think. Another customer inquired about 65" and 75" deals but those sold out.

But then by definition it wouldn't be a TV.

I think mine is ready for pick up, per the site, but I haven't gotten email yet. I have a feeling that it still might be luck of the draw or first come first served even with pick ups. 😩
I would advice to not wait and go to a store and get it if you have stock. I called the store up front and asked them to physically check if the set was there in stock. Their system takes a bit of time to update. Good luck!

Technically, a television means a system for transmitting visual images and sound that are reproduced on a screens, period. So that could mean from a DVD player, etc. Just because some of us think of them in the old way of receiving content doesn't make our old way of thinking true. A lot of people born in the 80's (now approaching 40) have no idea you can receive content through the air waves with these things called antennas. Even several top line models don't include that jurassic era technology. My bet, in 10 years most tv's will not include tuners. https://www.vizio.com/tuner-free ,

By definition, it's not a TV if it doesn't have a tuner. It's a display, just like Vizio calls the tuner free devices in your link. Maybe a retailer could incorrectly advertise a display as a TV (as in an ad typo), but no manufacturer is going to make that mistake.

TVs must contain a broadcast TV tuner, by Federal law! In the TV specs, make sure it has an antenna, "RF", coax, or cable TV input. Note, not all TVs with this input will list it. So, if you see this input, you're good.Aug 7, 2016
