It takes me to the search results showing echo dot on Amazon when I use Alexa on iOS. Do I need an actual Alexa device to order?

Yeah, I was excited and then realized it's the one WITHOUT a clock. Picture is misleading for sure.

How much improved is the speaker vs G3? There is a tremendous difference between 1 and 3 in terms of sound quality and volume.

Reading the reviews it looks like it's the same speaker just firing forward versus up.

Yes. Same driver. I think the main improvement is the faster AI chip.

Between the 1st and 3rd gen is a night and day difference.

3rd generation and this one? Minor, at best.

This is probably the best price I have seen on 4th Gen Dot.

I couldn't find good info but I am heavily invested in Alexa; we have 6 units in the house right now ranging from Flex, to Dot, Spot, Show gen1, Show 8, Show 5, etc....and I also have 3 more units at my parents under the same acct. Despite the various proximity settings, when I make a request it seems to go to a different unit, especially when asking for an Amazon Music Unlimited song request. I started naming alternate room locations as "Echo" instead of "Alexa" which helps somewhat, but still at times respond on different units. I have reset all devices and replaced Dot gen2 with gen3 already with no difference in response. For example, if a song request is made from master bathroom, it would play from my kid's bedroom way down the hallway, not even from the closer master bedroom unit. It's a little frustrating as these are not 1st gen devices and wondering if others have experience same issue? It's not just music, same for timer or simple question requests, response can come from almost any one of the random units in the house. *Preferred speaker is not set either.
