why on earth would you want your doorbell recording 24/7????
Why not? Plenty of things happen closer to the street and outside of the motion zone.

Before anyone buy this better check to make sure you have en3power to power it. It is different than the other ring. This needs constant power and a certain amount of power. If less it will either disconnect or stop working.

You been warned. More info here.

You can also buy plug in power supplies (+ a special resistor) for these. Our house had battery doorbells before so we didn't have existing doorbell cabling. I was however able to reuse all the wiring for an old ADT security system and have all the ring stuff wired up to the basement adt box and that's where I keep the power supplies.

In my case, the existing transformer was not supplying enough power. After a while, it would disconnect. Very common as reported by others. End up just buying a new transformer and all is great.

BTW when you get it installed, you can also check the ring app to see if it has enough power, it's in the setting area.

Just to point this out, this model does not support battery operation and will only work oif you are either replacing an existing hardwired doorbell or are willing to put in the work to install the transformer and wiring.

Anyone know if the housing on these can be painted? Not sure how satin nickel would look against darker brick.
It comes with a few different colored face plates

Have you guys seen any similar bundles as this one for the Ring Peephole for apartments?
I just returned the peephole. I have a storm door and it blurred everything out and I'd get a ton of false notifications. So then I changed the settings and the next day missed a car break in! Lol. Hopefully this one is much better.

The peephole models are very nice when installed backwards on your neighbors doors. You can also set up multiple ones, and with cam pro, watch all of them at the same time.

Are their any video smart doorbells that don't need a subscription? I just got a bunch of blink cameras because I can store them locally, want something to pair with that otherwise i would have just got a bunch of ring ones.

Eufy doorbell. There are a couple of different models. Wired (requires existing doorbell wiring) with built in storage or wireless (doorbell has rechargeable battery, but can also be wired) which requires a Eufy Homebase (original, E, or 2) for storing its video footage.

Get the one with 2k resolution.

Wait for a sale. They come and go often.
