For $5 more, you can get the keyless, z-wave model in oil rubbed bronze. I like it better because it doesn't have an ugly keyhole, and the rubber buttons are great for colder climates or very sunny areas. I have two of them and it works great with Smarththings

What happens when battery died?

Are people generally prefer black or Bronze than Satin Nickel color? Probably avoid attention of an electronic lock?

No, this is not compatible with the Ring Doorbell. The Yale Assure Lock with Z-Wave (YRD226-ZW2) is compatible with Ring Alarm though

Lock alerts you for a few weeks when batteries are running low. Should last 12 months. It has physical keys as back-up

And if you buy the key-free model (YRD256), it has a 9V battery back-up

I'd avoid mechanical button as it can wear out. The key-less touch button is a slightly higher priced than the key touch button model, probably a reflection of market preference.

On a side note, good luck keeping a 9v battery when desperately needed to get in the door. Otherwise, a key hole does provide a way for lock picking, so it's not as safe as key-less.

Pretty much any grocery store will have a 9v battery and possibly one of your nearby neighbors.
