No, ebay take more of fee now. Listings are at 43.99, i only received about 37.69 of it. I offer free shipping. They better had taken their final cut fee, because if im hit with a final cut fee from $37.69 i am done with ebay!
Paypal was deducting that 2.9% before you got your money too and if someone cancelled the transaction u didn't get that back. I had plenty of transactions for a few hundred bucks that the buyer then said oh never mind. $300 * 2.9% + .30 meant I was out $9. Thanks paypal.
what i meant is to say that ebay- instead of letting someone else (a 3rd party - ex paypal) collect the payment processing fees, that the processing fee should go to ebay instead..
- which makes you wonder why ebay spinned off paypal ....guess they didn't foresee how successful paypal would become..
as for the fees, if i'm reading correctly, ebay deducts all fees (listing fees, commission fees, payment processing fees,etc) before you get your money.. before, it used to be that if you sold something (aside from the paypal fees), you pay ebay fees at the end of the billing cycle (and one was able to pay them off using a credit card, paypal, etc)... .. now, ebay collects all their fees every time you sell something/deduct it from your sale..then you get your money..
Also returns are no different than before. They've always forced returns if a buyer really wanted to so there's no point fighting it.
I haven't had a single issue so far. Set it up to do daily payouts and it's not a big deal - especially if you're a real seller and move inventory. Not having to go into PayPal every day to do this manually is huge.

I have a few listings on mercari. I had one sale, couldn't contact the buyer regarding their address so I canceled it and haven't had another sale. The final value fees were equal to what I was paying when I got paypal.
Mercari defaults to smart pricing which means your items are marked lower and lower and lower and lower till they sell and so the prices listed are low low low. I can't compete with those prices.
AND I don't think there is a way to list multiple quantities and their categories are very limited.
I get 200 free listings per month on ebay per account. That is 800 that I use every month.
My time on ebay may come to an end tho. I have no plans on keeping sixbit after the 6 month trial, so it will be down to mostly relisting what I have listed.
So.... I signed up. I have no idea if I didn't sign up if they would have prevented me from listing but I want to sell as much as I can while I have sixbit so I wasn't chancing it.
My other two accounts haven't gotten any notice or offers. I might just see if I can get some incentive if I don't sign up when I get the notice since my sixbit trial is ending in a month and it takes at least a month after the notification to be activated anyway.
Now eBay immediately takes 10% for the sale and another 2.5% for processing fees. So 12.5% total. This is actually a little less than eBay and PayPal combined.
Until you realize that eBay is also charging the seller 12.5% from the sales tax that the person buying the item paid for "processing the tax" as well. Which I'm pretty sure is illegal since I highly doubt eBay is paying a 12.5% processing fee themselves. They're making a small profit off the seller when the buyer pays sales tax. How can they charge me a fee to process money I never received and make a profit doing that?
So if I sell something for $1,000 eBay collects $125 for the sale from the seller at $12.5% immediately. If the buyer also pays 9.5% sales tax ($95) then as the seller you pay an additional 12.5% fee on the buyer's sales tax, which never actually touched your account ($11.88) for $136.88 total in seller fees to eBay. So it's more like 13.7% disguised at 12.5%. Super misleading.
On top of this you don't get access to your money immediately. If I get paid from a buyer on Friday. It doesn't even start to transfer to my bank account until Tuesday since it's "processing". Then it finally hits my bank Thursday or Friday because the bank now needs to process it. That's 6-7 days from the buyer sending me the money until I have access to it.
Meanwhile I still have to ship the item to the buyer as soon as the payment comes in. Since it's not the buyer holding up the payment. I usually ship next day after getting paid. eBay claims the payment is guaranteed once they accept it so it's safe to ship. But I don't trust them at all.
Overall I'm pissed that I can't stay with PayPal. Which is a sentence I never thought I'd type lol. Good luck all!

I believe eBay charges sales tax now regardless of state. They even charge sales tax if you buy something directly from China lol.
