If I only need a good drill/drive tool and battery to work on some hanging stuff at home cordlessly ( I am not a builder and I don't know how to use other tools) is this $99 tool set a good deal (Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing.
ONE+ HP 18V Brushless Cordless Compact 1/2 in. Drill/Driver Kit with (2) 1.5 Ah Batteries, Charger and Bag
I bought the drill/saw/light/battery kit + the "free tool" worklight and it came out to $99.00 combined due to a glitch that applies the $30 savings from the worklight to the overall package. I didn't pick up the worklight so the kit came out to like $76 + tax. I plan on gifting the drill/charger/1.5ah battery & keeping the light & saw & 4ah battery.
The saw is laughably small and only really capable of cutting a 2x4 or some plywood but thats all I'd need it for. I doubt it could go through a 4x4 unless you cut from two angles.

I'm not sure why that works, but you are correct. The work light results in a lower price for the combo kit than anything else by about $7 for me.

Price is $129. Not brushless, but nevertheless a decent deal overall.
