I worry about the particle board long term in a non insulated garage. Any comments re: this?
Got similar ones from lowes 5 years ago and sitting in humid garage no insulation. BTW I leave 20 miles from coast and particle board help up pretty good with no warping. May be Trick is if you load them enough and pack the rack like i did they are pretty good
I purchased 2 of these in July and have had them in a dry basement. Most of the shelves have noticeable warping.
Applications that expose one surface of a panel to a warm humid atmosphere and the other to a dry atmosphere will result in moisture unbalance that can cause warp. Maybe acclimate in the basement for 2 weeks before using might help.
Virtually every year for I'd buy the Edsal shelves (similar to these) on Black Friday at Lowes for $50. I have 8 in total in a dry basement. (these: https://www.lowes.com/pd/edsal-24...it/1000527) But I was disappointed that they aren't going on sale this year. Actually, I don't now if they'll be back in stock again. I've been checking the site every few days for weeks and they are not in stock and not in any local store. These are likely just as good. For heavy shelves of small items, the particle board always sags. My solution is to cut a 2' 2x4 and screw under the shelf- One 3" screw directly through the 4' steel brace and into the endgrain of the 2x4. Problem solved. These metal supports are shaped slightly different than the ones I've been buying at Lowes so I'll have to get creative with my 2x4 shelf supports. This is probably the best deal you'll find. I've had my eye on similar shelves for a while now. I'm hoping they'll arrive in good shape.... we'll see... bought 3! Thanks OP!

this sounds like exactly what I'd want to do with the two I just bought. do you happen to have a photo of these 2x4 supports that you've been using? trying to visualize it and coming up short.

Actually, there's a Lowes review that has a good pic. The ones I have were super easy to do- Just drill a hole and drive a screw. This guy used 2 screws https://photos-us.bazaarvoice.com...e97f1b26b3
